Hi all.
I thought I had everything done on my project bike, then when I shifted into 1st to pull away, the bike lurched then stalled.
It seems that in the time the bike has been sitting, the clutch has seized.
I have adjusted the clutch at cable and pusher mechanism so it definately
is getting pushed in when I pull the lever.
Any Ideas on how to free this up?
I guess otherwise I'm looking at draining the oil, taking off the side cover
and dismantling the clutch. Probably replace the clutch plates while I'm in there I guess.
Please tell me there is a neat trick to free this off. The other bike My girlfriend has been riding (a 1976 MZ TS250/1) died 2 days ago

If the filler cap is over the clutch plates, remove the filler cap and use a screwdriver to gently pry apart the plates. Warning: they don't move very much in the first place, only like a tenth of a mm, so don't pry them any further. New oil helps to free them up, too.
center stand.....
start bike and roll on the throttle
jab the rear brake every once in a while
raise and lower throttle.... jab brake
do all this while the clutch lever is pulled in
it should un stick it
dit it to my old miata when i roasted the clutch one day doing burn outs at every corner
I like what Werase643 says ... Shock the plates and they may come loose, but you need the motor heat to help expand internals and oil to get in-between. :thumb:
