Title: Suspension sitting low?
Post by: blue05twin on September 24, 2005, 08:20:57 PM
Rejetted two 05's last night and I noticed that mine was sitting about 4" lower than boss500's bike.  We had them on the side stands side by side and mine was about 4" lower in the front and about 2 to 3 " lower in the rear.   When I pulled on my handle bars the forks slid up about 3" and the front tire lever left the ground.  So is his set to high or is mine set to low.  Without a center stand what points should I measure from to check?
Thanks

Do you still have the stock springs?

WAY too much front static sag on your bike - When you clomb on it will be lower yet - and leave almost no tuspension travel to soak up a bump.  Needs, at minimum, a spring spacer and should have new springs in front.  In back - does he have an aftermarket  or other non standard shock?  GSXR shocks raise the back about an inch - that could be a part of it - If you are not the first owner, perhaps someone lowered the bike.

Everything on the supsension is bone stock.  and I only have 300 miles on it.  It was like that when I purchased it from the dealer.  I just didn't notice it till I had it sitting next to another gs500.  I'll just send it back to the dealer.
