+1
did you have to remove the brake disc and sprockets?
huh? of course the rotor has to come off... no sproket cause its the front wheel.
but back to the question.. how should i prepare the surface??
The wheel is spray painted white right now, yes?
Spray on paint remover, like the Arcraft stuff.
I will be doing this soon to, so tell me how it goes.
P.S. you can get the stuff at stores like NAPA
Yeah, getting the paint off would be best. If you do, sand down the metal with 200 grit sandpaper, clean it with mineral spirits, and spray some high-quality primer on there. Let it dry thoroughly and then spray your paint on there. Dry, clearcoat, dry, clearcoat, etc... Many thin layers is better than one thick layer.
ok cool. now what about using a clear over flat black. how would that look?
It'd look like a shiny black. The matte would turn shiny with the clear coat over it. Matte black looks good on headlight housings, though! :thumb:
headlight mod done. parts of the frame and rearsets are also done. even the underside of the seat!
In the matte black? Sweet! I'm spreading the trend! bwa ha ha! Pics though, man. We need pictures.
