Here's a place I can post pictures without creating a bunch of new threads for each one. Feel free to post your own, if you want.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Monterey, CA. I took this on Saturday before the MotoGP races on top of the highest hill there.
Quote from: AlphaFire X5highest hill
I went to Bryn Mawr college. Welsh for "High hill."

You went to where? oh my gosh....i'm older then you but still small world.
I grew up around there.
You can't see the straight away heading into turn 1 from there, can you?
Did you stay to see the race (Hayden's win)?
You can't see the whole straight going into Turn 1, but I like Turn 2 better (the hairpin). I stayed for the whole race, and was stationed at the Corkscrew for the last two days, pretty much. I walked around everywhere on Day 1 and the beginning of Day 2. Day 3 I was stuck at the corkscrew in direct sunlight for 9 hours straight with no wind. It was worth every minute. Those MotoGP bikes sound absolutely intoxicating.

That is the exact same picture that was used in an Acropovic (I think) add right after the race. That picture is everywhere. So cool.
I'm very jealous.
Great pic. Too bad you left your ratty ass hand in the frame!
Psh. Both my hands were on the camera. That was some jerk in front of me. I'm glad that I had the oppourtunity to take the picture, instead of using some company picture, too.
I would have bitten it. :P
Looking at the burnout picture makes me wonder what's gonna happen when the flag gets caught in the chain...
Burning is a proper means of disposal for a flag. I dunno about chain-shredding.
Rossi at The Corkscrew.

It was fairly blurry before, but I did my best.
it really looks like the bike just fell over on him and he's pinned there.
I was at that race aswell, I watched that Moto GP race from that same hill. Do plan on going back next year? Jimmy
Depending on my monetary situation at the time, yes; I definitely want to go back. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. Hopefully I'll be able to get a camping spot in the park, rather than at Toro next time.

Lovely...

That picture wasn't exactly the type I was expecting or intending for this thread...
Whatever.
I'll gladly revive my own thread.
My girlfriend and I went to feed the ducks a few weeks ago and I took a bunch of pictures. Y'all only get these two for now! :)

Stuck running errands today, so I only have pics from just outside of work.
This is a break from heavy rain, so pic #1 involved rather a lot of mud. The rear tire preceded me out of the spot.

and a snow pic...
Ooooo.... Pretty. I really really like that first shot. It's cool how that tree is pretty much the only obvious one with color in it. I see there are a few in the back, but not too obvious.
The second one is nice because it has snow, which I never see.
Sadly I didn't take these shots, but I like them well enough to share them with y'all:

My equipment is a 30 year old Canon A-1. It's hardly special.
This was the first roll. I haven't finished off the second roll yet, so I'll add some more tomorrow.
Nice work Alpha, those are great.
I'm only commenting cuz I have to. They look nice.

Glad you went with the A1. And glad to hear you talking in terms like this. i hope an all manual SLR makes you a better photographer. i'm pretty certain it will.
Pictures look good, man. You've got a good eye.

Well, it isn't like I had much of a choice with my camera, it was free! The A-1 was my father's old camera from back in the 70s, and it's just worked its way through the family to me. What I think is also helping make me a better photographer is this photography class I'm taking. That's what these pictures are for, really.
Next project is "disturbances", where we put stuff at the edges of the frame. So basically proper "artistic" framing of shots.
