This guys is selling a GS with carbon on it, and calling it a GSX-R edition? WTF.. sounds like hes trying to scam someone.

Anyone seen this before?
Looks just painted and stickered up to me.
thats what you call a poser
Is it just me, or is the 'tank protector' not on straight? :?
Quote from: BadgerIs it just me, or is the 'tank protector' not on straight? :?
Nope, you are correct. It's tilted to the right. I bet those are all just stickers. That "GSX-R" logo goes right over the graphics in a very bad place. Plus, it's at the wrong angle. The GSX-R logos on the regular Gixxers are all straight up and down, perpindicular to the ground.
he put stickers on the back of his jacket. And one on the back of his helmet. haha.
He also lied on the dry weight. It's not 375 dry, especially for an '04 model. Try 396 or higher (CA models and others).
somebody email him and give him the what for.....I would but I'm off on a weekend trip...
I've heard talk of modifying a GS 500 with the head off of one of the old GSX bikes. I suppose with a rear shock swap and a fron end swap to upgrade the suspension and brakes you could get away with calling your bike a GSX-R 500.
I don;t reckon that's what this guy is peddaling though.
the think the big "R" on his jacket and helmet actually stand for retarded...
+1 :thumb:
Official SRAD decal kit....Carbon Fiber kit.....
What's up with the upper fairing? It looks black and no screen.
I think "Illusions Cycles" pretty much sums it up.
I, for one, am glad this was pointed out. My eBay search filter doesn't catch this kind of listing...yet.
This seller is a victim of DGE - Displacement & Graphics Envy
This condition usually motivates delusional ideas that the community at large (that's us) is just plain stupid and cannot tell a fake when it is represented.
The last picture in his listing tells the story. "Illusions" to be sure. WTF is "SRAD" on the tail?
All in all, it is misleading and bordering on fraud.
haha,.. i love the fact that the same stickers are on his jacket and helmet. OK buddy... and look how much hes asking for it.
and yes, that is a replaced front faring with no windshield. wonder if all this carbon fiber was put on after he dumped the bike and wrecked it, now its fixed up on the outside to sell. His knee brace might be backing that theory up. layed it down on the left side? lol

Good observations! Also note that the tach and speedo are two different types. One is chrome, the other black.

good call. when u look at that pic, you can also see he still has all the warning stickers on the tank and gas tank ?!
come on.. 1800 miles and he didnt take those off,
but he upgraded to the "GSX-R" version lol.
i bet the tank and fairings are new with the tack and all the rest of the stuff.
what really sucks is the auction just ended and some poor person
is buying it for $3500!
SRAD = Suzuki Ram Air Direct or something like that.
Notice how there is a clear straight on shot of the right side, but a very distanced shot of an angled left side? I would highly bet he laid it down on the left side. Also, if you look at the from-behind shot, you can see something peeling off the left fairing; my guess would be it's his dumb sticker. My guess is that black fairing came off a European model, or he taped the official graphics over and did a spray-job on it, getting rid of all the scratches on the left side !
Ok, So the @$$hole buys the parts for the bike FROM EBAY... (that he probably picked up salvaged.. oh gee.. don't see that mentioned.. or the VIN even for that matter so people can check to see.) Can you say Scam? SCAAAAAAM. FLIM FLAM SKIM BAM DOO WOP THAT GUY NAME SAM (ok.. that was a stretch..) IS A SCAAAAM.

I also found the stupid ass patches that he put on that "suzuki jacket".
What an ass.... someone needs to give this guy a what for, and should also report him to ebay.. this is obvious mis-representation. He KNEW the bike was a GS5 cause he bought the upper from ebay and it is LISTED as a GS5 upper. I would also tell ebay to let the guy know he has been had, and not to pay.
Man.. people like that PISS ME OFF. I would call him and Buddha Loves You if I had his phone number!
GEEZ!
Oh what? His phone number? Oh yea.. Sure.. got that too..
(614) 204-1032
Nice research. Someone needs to show the guy who's about to buy that bike this thread. And report the seller to ebay.
Im at work so I cant do much now.... if anyone does anything, or at least e-mails the buyer.. post it here so we know!
Jomei, you beat me to it. This guy is a real piece of work. It may not be the dude with the knee brace that's doing this fraud, but the perp has also bought a compressor and other tools to perpetuate this misrepresentation. My guess is the knee brace dude is an accomplice
Gad! He has even bought more instrument panels so we should expect more bastard children from this fellow!
I don't have a problem with someone rebuilding bikes and selling them. Just be up front and completely honest as to what you are selling.
In the old days here in the south, they would say "he needs killin."
Let's just hope he doesn't try that $hit here on GSTwin.
Quote from: jomeiOk, So the @$$hole buys the parts for the bike FROM EBAY
Did anyone total up the parts and figure out what he actually got for the bike (minus the 'l33t m0dz')?
To summarize: the concensus is that he got the bike, trashed it, got some parts and stickers off ebay (and possibly a can of Krylon :) ) to swap out/mask the damage. It's probably also true (considering the brace suspiciously on the same side as the speculated damage) that he might be getting rid of the bike because he screwed himself up in the process and doesn't want to ride anymore.
I'm curious how long he had it before he trashed it. I didn't read really carefully, but I didn't see any mention of how many miles were on it...not that it would be accurate if he replaced the guages. Of course, if the buyer figures out something is amiss that might work out for him...misrepresenting mileage on the odometer disclosure is a crime. He does mention that the jacket was worn only 3 times, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. It's probably not a salvage title, so the proud new owner might not really have any idea.
My feeling when I was looking at used equipment was that any custom paint was a prime indicator that there was some undisclosed damage. Caveat emptor, I guess.
good example of why not to buy a bike sight unseen... I can't believe people do it.
Quote from: bargovicAnd report the seller to ebay.
Hrm. Did he actually do anything wrong? Unethical perhaps, misleading definitely, but fraudulent? I'm not sure. I don't think eBay has a "total disclosure" requirement, so as long as he didn't fraudulently misrepresent the item, I don't think eBay would care.
Now, if he had said "Never been down," that would be something else entirely.
It was misrepresented. He never posted the VIN, and the product was misnamed and misrepresented when it was clear he knew that it was not a GSX-R. He purchased parts FOR the bike listed as GS500 parts, and he purchased the offending GSX-R decals he used to misrepresent the product from ebay as well.
"... and if you want I can take a dump in a bag and mark it gauranteed, but what then did you really buy? A gauranteed piece of shaZam!."

The item is being miss represented, or falsely listed. I guess its open to opinion/interpretation.. but he has it listed as:
2004 Suzuki : GSX-R GS500F
gs500f carbon gixxer edtion
Which there is no such edition from the manufacture, only from his garage.
it is fruadulant, GSXR 500 twin does not exist. suzuki didnt even make one. they have made GSX's of smaller displacment. .
here is what i wrote to him:
just to help clear up a missunderstanding and possible source of headache for you. anyone bidding on this bike can back out of paying leagely as its not whats discribed. suzuki didnt make a GSXR 500 2 cyl, GSX designates a 4 valve per cyl head, this bike uses a 2 valve setup, the 04-05 use GSXR like fairings, but other then brake upgrade, oil cooler and some engine electronic stuff, its a GS500E with skins. looks good though. should you keep it check out www.gstwin.com lots of good info there
his responce:
this bike is sold and i am canceling all bids on it. it was paid for when picked up 3 days ago 4100 cash. ty very much

:dunno:
who in their right mind would pay $4100 for that hump of junk!

I'm not a lawyer, but I think you'd have a hard time getting this classified as fraud.
2004
[year] Sukuki
[manufacturer] : GSX-R
[stickers] GS500F
[model]To my knowledge, Suzuki has never made a model called a "gixxer" either. That doesn't stop people from representing their GSX-R's that way. :dunno:
My original point was that he listed it that way in order to mislead someone
into buying it. He's intentially trying to make it look like someone is getting
a GSX-R for the GS price. He knows what it really is, and he knows how hes clouding his wording to take advantage of someone who cant see through it.
You can argue for or against the seller commiting fraud.. but the point was is hes a retard.
He seems to like buying Suzuki parts...

But, oh no he bought a sander and air wrench.. what other monsters will he make. This guy reminds me of a video i saw.. where some guy had a mustang with a vinyl chineese symbol on his back window and a type R badge on the side.
do people like this guy have to much time.. or to much money?

There was a clip at the end of Mayhem 3000 with them f%$king with this brother with an R sticker and shaZam! on his Mustang. Asking if it had rotary and shaZam!, and he's all "Yeah, it's got all that." Pretty funny.

QuoteHi, you don't know me, but this note is in regards to the motorcycle you just purchased, ebay item number 4577554812, I just wanted to let you know that myself, and others have a few suspicions about this bike. The bike is actually a GS500F (do a google search), not a GSX500R (there is NO SUCH BIKE, check Suzuki's website), we believe the seller is trying to defraud you. If you would, spend a moment of your time and view the thread we posted about your bike, viewable at http://www.gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21349

Sent that to the winning bidder, BEFORE I found out that the guy sold it to someone else and cancelled the winning bid... at least that might have done some good.. now some poor sap payed $600 MORE for it, and we have no way of letting them know they've been ripped... I mean.. CRAP, I could get a NEW '04 for about that price.... At least I tried..
Quote from: bargovicMayhem 3000 was the vid.. . yeah it was a rotary mustang with headers! lol
Yeah, I knew there was another funny line. With headers. What a dork.
Just to add to the list... Has one Bar-End, but not the other... And no windscreen.

It reminds me of that one Jack in the Box commercial. "All I need is just one"
Yeah, I don't buy anything without researching it first. Consumer Reports is a good magazine!
HaHa I like the picture of him wearing his helmet, leather jacket, and shorts, ok makes sense to me as far as protective equipment goes, hmm maybee pants
