Title: Bike Change....
Post by: jomei on September 30, 2005, 03:07:19 AM
Just letting anyone know in case they saw me at any point in time around Santa Monica/LA Proper. I am changing bikes again. I will post some pics in a bit. At the moment...

94' GS500 light blue.
89' Ninja250 (Now it is streetfighter'ed out.. totally black.. about to get really chopped and altered..)
97' Ninja500 (Black as well.. and street fightered... not as chopped nasty as the 250.)

Looking to pick up a xs650, or cb450/550.. early/pre 80's. If anyone has one.. let me know.

(Man.. I need a garage...)

Care to share why you think your tastes are wandering like this?

There was a prime XS650 on ebay, being sold out of Omaha.  I really wanted it.  Bidding went to $1000 and never touched the reserve.

I'm guessing that you've got street tracker on your mind, and I like it!

I sold one last month for ~650, mile was no where near cherry, but its a user - daily rider ... and new owner has been riding it ever since.
Cool.

It's true for CA, after I broke my cheapo bar-end mirror off my GS, I got a fixit ticket from a SD cop, put my stock left side on, and got it signed off without a hitch.

One on the left, and say you can actually use it and it'll pass.

Here in SC, you only are required one "useable" mirror..........

I have a bar end from a mountain bike on mime, and it seems to work better than most mirror's I've tried, even at 90+mph.........

I've used a mirrior that I keep around(screws into any mirror socket I've tried) to get new acquisitions home, I've even had it on the bike for a week or more waiting on a new one, and belive me, you cannot use it for anything except seeing your shoulder, but it kept the cops happy................... :dunno:  :dunno:

Yea, that XS is too expensive and nice to chop. I am looking for something that has a pretty solid engine, but is totally beat. $350-$400 MAX. I want to rip it to shreds and put it back together all nice like. Thinking of a street tracker, or cafe style. Not sure as of yet... Something like this quite possibly..

I am going to use a gsxr swingarm, and a gsxr front end if I can make them fit. I am sure that the forks will, the swing arm.. well.. it may require some coaxing... hell.. maybe I will just remove the rear shocks and weld a brace into the frame.. hard tail style.. I am already going to chop the frame to make it a single seat anyway....

Other then that.. tastes changing? Nope.. I just like bikes.. (There are other bikes as well as the GS ;) dont get me wrong at all.. I LOVE my gs...) I have an addiction problem..

Step One: Admit you have a problem.

Hello my name is Jomei. (Hello Jomei) I have a problem.. a problem with addiction to things that have two weels, go vroom and travel at high speeds.  :(

I still have no garage.. hmm.... I am going to go and ride for a bit.. be back later... :)

Oh.. and by the way.. this is adding... and by no means subtracting.

oh.. btw.. pantablo.. you can hit me up at the cafe anytime.  :thumb:
