Has anyone had the creative ingenuity to get a second rotor on a GS without switching front ends???
Thanks
Do a search for a Katana front end swap or GSXR front end swap. There is one on Pantablo's page.
you would need the left lower leg and caliper from a early VX800, use the valve from the GS leg and install it onto a GStube, put another rotor on the left side and you should have it. there are a few parts the VX uses simular to the GS, like the dash, headlight and brakets. check it out here http://vx800.net/
I got it to work!!!
Only I used a Right GS fork leg and caliper and moved it over to the left. I had to have a custom fork brace made and I also needed to get some longer bolts and spacers to get the caliper to mount. I used the master cylender and brake lines off of a '01 F4i. It works like a dream.
If anyone else wants to do this and wants help let me know. I am going to have a couple braces made up if anyone wants one.
Thanks
What wheel did you use?
You've got to post pics. And soon.
you should be able to use the stock wheel. its the same as a katana wheel which has two rotors
I used the stock GS rim. I just took off the plastic cover on the left side and bolted on a 2nd rotor. I will try to get some pics up within a day of so.
I forgot that I had to get an extra axle spacer as well
let me know what you want for a brace, i have an extra lower right and calliper, i already use a katana mastercyl.
I havent gotten the bill yet but I will post it when I know how much they are.
Thanks
