No black for SV650 or SV1000, but Turquoise?!?!

I like the looks of that top GS500F. w00t!
I like it better than the '05 paint, but the '04 yellow RULES over all!
Heh...I was thinking that I was glad I didn't wait for the new colors. Probalby would have gotten the black one, if I did. I'm not sure I could handle the "what color is your bike" question with..."Seafoam??"
But the blue gixxer 600 with color matched rims...that looks nice.
The spec sheet on the 600 lists four colors, white/blue, red/black, black/gray, and silver/white...but it doesn't look like they've got the silver/white image up yet :dunno: Looks like the price has gone up $500 as well...probaly trying to catch up with Honda pricing.
I'm really diggin' the GSX-R750's red and black color scheme
(http://www.suzukicycles.com/images/ProductImages/colorVariations/500/GSXR750K6_Red_Black_701B1A.jpg)
And the GSX-R600's red and black as well
(http://www.suzukicycles.com/images/ProductImages/colorVariations/500/GSXR600K6_Red_Black_D31F1C.jpg)
However, the best red of them all is the GSX-R1000's red... damn that's hot. It almost makes me want to go red instead of blue. Almost.

I'm not liking the turquoise color on the GSF or the SVs. I mean seriously, there are much better choices than TURQUOISE. That's almost as bad as purple!

DUCK!

The Carbon fiber key guard (http://www.suzukicycles.com/Accessories/detail.aspx?modelId=2bc9405b-6c9a-4e00-bbfe-228e7dbab522&accessoryCategoryId=81213111-32e6-45a9-becc-eb4b6dfb38b2&accessoryId=6577532f-5561-4a4b-b123-ae6cf0867e04) for the SV doesn't really seem worth the price... :?
Yeah, I'd pay $100K for it, but $129K? Outrageous! ;)
How about the Katanas? Still ugly.
I think calling the Katanas "still ugly" is like saying Pandy "still has a thing for purple"
It's a given. A no brainer. A constant.
Who buys them? The styling is so outdated. I just wonder who the Katanas appeal to.
Or, calling the Katanas "still ugly" is also like saying that Roadstergal "has a nice ass".
No freakin' duh.
pandy "still has a thing for purple"? i did not know that.

katanas are buck ugly? now, i did know that!

Mmmm. That's nice...I still think I like the matching rims on the blue, though.
I'm glad I got my bike before the new colors came out, I don't care for either. I think I would have gone with a different bike completely.
i dunno, i would have to see that blue/green in person. dunno if i like that too much...
Wow, the gixxers are beautiful.
Sweet, and and my black/gray A* Spinner jacket will match the paint  Only question is when Suzuki will release the SV's to the dealers :dunno: I think the '05 GS's were rolled out late March, early April
(http://www.suzukicycles.com/images/ProductImages/colorVariations/500/SV1000SK6_Gray_696C73.jpg)
Hmm, the 06 choices are tough...
GSXR 600 vs R6. I'm leaning toward the R6- fly by wire throttle and 17500RPM redline. The GSXR does look really sweet though...
Quote from: stefman722Wow, the gixxers are beautiful.
That sounds about as redundant as saying Katanas are fugly. ;)
Katanas: made for people too insecure to get a GS, but too timid to get a gixxer.

If I got a Katana the first thing I'd do before riding it would be to strip the fairings off and put a headlight on. Seriously. That is just fat-hooker ugly. I don't see why Suzuki hasn't changed the looks. All the other companies' "step-down sportbike", the ZZR600, YZF600R, and CBR600F4i, look very similar to the more sporting counterparts.

Hrm...I wouldn't have thought the F4i was considered a "step down"...do you mean from the 600RR? I thought the main difference between the F4i and the RR was the styling (no undertail exhaust), and a slightly reduced redline. The weight, CG, and power are otherwise pretty similar, no? Unlike the GSX-R and the Katana, which are completely different beasts.
Of course, I am speaking from a strong position of ignorance...but I thought Honda's target with the F4i was different than Suzuki's with the Katana.
Anyway...I usually see a Katana in the parking lot at the office...it looks like a childs drawing of a sportbike.
I dind't see the specs of the new 06 gs500f, but is there any difference from the 05s? or just the color. thanks.

gs will stay the same for another 20 years
Its settled. Im getting a red/black gsxr 750. I was going to get me a sv1000s. But i honestly hate those colours. And i dont like to buy used bikes. Silver is too plane IMO and the turquoise, lol, wtf?

Eh, Honda's position with the F4i is very similar to that of Suzuki with the Katana. The F4i has a more relaxed riding position (still sporty, but not AS sporty as the 600RR) and the engine is tuned for more midrange torque, less high end power.

Interesting. Never sat on either the F4i or the RR, and wasn't aware of the posture difference. I never quite categorized it in the same category as the Katana, mostly becuase the Katana looks too much like you're riding a water buffalo. ;) At least the CBR looks nice.
Exactly. The CBR600F4i is a very nice looking bike. The ZZR600 even more so. The YZF600R is just below the Kawi, in my book. The Katana is just so dated and horrendously ugly that most people don't group it with the others. The step-down bikes have all had fairly recent revisions and updates to styling and performance, most notably the Kawi ZZR, as it was all new for '05.
If Suzuki updated the Katana's styling and made it more of a demi-Gixxer it could most likely be a fair contender in the step-down sportbike category. From what I understand the motor in it is sturdy, powerful, and as reliable as the GS.
The new GSX-R body/colors are nice.. specially that red/black 600. But I def like the '05 colors of the GS's more than the '04 and '06.
Exactly, if the 750 katana was better looking, there is no reason why i wouldnt buy it.
The beastliest bike is the Blue Beast
(look below)

OK but seriously, I'm planning to paint it this winter...man, I hate that
color :guns: Sorry Pandy... :dunno:
You are shooting at sorry pandy
That means you arn't really sorry
Bike+wheels= cool
katana's are a GSX or a 1st generation gixxer. (late 80's)
F4I's are honda's 4th gen sport bike (97 or so)
there is no comparision. which is why the katana is marketed at a budget sport tourer, not a budget sport bike.
seafoam is cool, atleast it dosn't have a banana seat.
This new generation of 600 sport bikes are just not that attractive to me. I'm sure they're gonna be light years above the bikes they replace in terms of performance, but man, those fairings (especially the ones on the gixxers and R6) and color schemes are just hideous. Way too busy and complicated for me to call any of these 2006 bikes beautiful. Alright, I feel better after the mini-rant. :thumb:

I absolutely love the 05 bikes, but this new batch, I don't know. Looks like a complete toy now. Love the 2005 red/black/white scheme on the GSX600R. Hate the 2005 red/black scheme on the GSX600R.
hmmm...i'm not a big gixxer fan, looks wise.

But it's the "R" that's important, right? That's what my insurance folks told me...avoid any bike with an R in the model (CB
R, GSX-
R, YZF-
R, etc.). It sounded like the R added about $400-500 to the premium (I didn't want to ask about the CBR-RR...
way to many R's ;) ).
The Katana does not have an "R" designation...the CBR does. That's what made me consider them as different categories.
Doesn't change the fact that the Katana looks like a water buffalo.
Alright this is it, the four 2006 600cc sport bikes

They all have non-standard styles of pipes. 2 have an undertail exhaust and the Zuke and Yama have a new type of can. They all look sweet.

LOL. My favorite verb is...TAKE. :thumb:
Alright, I would take the supposed power and performance of the R6, the fairing and tail of the CBR600RR, the front and headlight of the GSX600R, and the exhaust also from the GSX600R. Then I'd give it the paint scheme from the red/black/white 2005 GSX600R. :thumb:
I think the new R6 is horrid, to much crap to the fairings. Here is what a few think need to be added to the new SV, taken from over on svrider
