It is too cool, therefore, it will never make it to the US.

:(

They STILL do not have the damn GPX here!

:? No GPX 400..
:? no GPX/Ninja 250 (we get crappy circa 1987 styling in 2006 for god sake.. they just added nasty flame decals..)
:? no GSXR 250R,
:? no GSXR 400,
:? no yama fzr 250,
:? no fzr 400 (imported for three years!? give me a break!),
:? no cbr 250R+R,
:? no cbr 400R,
:? no rc 211v,
:? no vfr 250,
:? no vfr 400,
:? no nsr 400,
:? no nsr 500R,
:? no gsvR,
:? no gvr 250
:? and no gvr 400 either.
:x

The main reason I am pissed off about bikes in the US, is that everyone else in the world (unless they have a displacement restriction) get some really KICK ASS machines AND whatever stuff we get here. Lower displacement machines can kick some ass too. Some of them are fscking KILLER, because with the displacement restriction they are FORCED to squeeze insane performance out of those super light bikes with tiny engines.

If you want a nice lower CC sport bike in the US (sans canada which JUST got the GPX) you are stuck with two options. Find a track beaten fzr400 with 40k, or an old school styling ninja 250 that looks better WITHOUT the plastic.

If you want a nice sportbike.. you have to ride a cbr 6-1k, vfr 6-1k, yzf 6-1k, gsxr 6-1k, or zx6-1k.

THAT IS PRETTY MUCH IT, AND EVERYONE ALREADY HAS EM'.
No way to be original in your choice when you only have 5 or 6 choices.

When oh when are WE PLEASE going to get some COOL TOYS!?!

oh.. and

Why cant the US use Metric (standard..? How can they call it Standard when everyone else is Metric? THAT WOULD MAKE METRIC STANDARD FOR PETES SAKE!) like everyone else.. just for the sake of saying up yours.. we are going to do it our way...?

*grumble* :(

Umm, you got more than a couple of MotoGP bikes on that list and, I may be mistaken, but you can buy those anywhere considering they're completely hand-built and customized per professional rider. I mean I guess you could buy them if you really had the money for it, but then I don't think they'd say "Oh you're from the states? Well F* off!"

I'm with you, Stefman.  Apart from joining this trend to stuff a hot pipes under the rider's seat (why would that make sense, especially in traffic? :dunno: ), I like what I see.

Could anyone from England get me the phone number to a reputable Suzuki dealer?

RogueGeek:

Point is, when I was in Japan. I could get most of those bikes at the right price, and there were lots more options. Here, I would have to import it, get price gouged, go through hell at the dmv because the thing would have to be re-inspected OR not be able to be registered at all, deal with hell of a VIN number that has the wrong number of digits from the DMV, if it breaks what to do for parts? import them at 4x the price? not to mention the insurance on it?

really, you can not get any of that stuff from the dealer. which sucks. there ARE some of them floating around, but then again, they go for as much as a new gixxer 1k or r1 because people KNOW they are rare. a damn 92 NSR250 was just going for 4.5 grand.. that is a 1,200 bike...

yea.. i am well aware.. all in all.. if you have enough money you can import whatever you want. buddy of mine has a skyline here. did it cost? yea. does it suck for parts? yea it does. did it break down? yea it did. does he have hella money to just throw away? sure thing.

I am thinking about getting a GPX from Canada.. it is a nice bike. Will it really be worth the hell I will go through? Hmm.. not really sure as of yet. I will let you know if I decide to go for it.

For now though, I am still looking for a used cb or an xs.

Oh .. and I will give you $20 for your mighty mouse. I need another one.

the GSR looks like a motoguzzi or speed triple wannabe. I actually like the kawasaki er-6n much better.

The Kawi is a nice looking bike but they are not bringing it to the US either.  Instead the brought the F version.  .. . looks like an ugly cousin of the Katana.

This GSR looks good, but it should have either a round headlight or dual headlight.  The new GSXR exhaust, which rocks, and better mirrors (those look way to cheap and plastic), chrome mirrors, like the ones on my bike would be great.  I like the integrated turn-signals, the seat looks comfy, and the colors work.

For the headlight, they could do something that was integrated into a small (read tiny) fairing.

What I don't understand is you've got the SV650 which is a rockin mid-weight hooligan bike, why make another?  This GSR is basically a 599 (Hornet).  There are at least 10-times more SVs on the road than 599s.  For that matter there are more FZ6s on the road than 599s.  Why, Suzuki, why are you building a bike that is going to cut into your own sales, and isn't as cool.  I am a SV fan, I'd rather have a torquey V-Twin to a high strung I-4, but naked middle-weights are naked middle-weights, both the SV and GSR are selling to the same crowd.

Personally I think the GSR looks 10X's better than the SV does.  I guess thats why they make similar yet different bikes.  If I had the choice between the current naked bikes ( available in the US and money was not a problem) I'd get the MV Agusta Brutale ( my oppinion the best looking naked bike on the market ) , but I'm sure other people will disagree and think it's the Moto Guzzi, Monster or even the SV is better looking it's just personal choice.  If Suzuki releases the GSR in the States I will get one.  If they do not I'm not sure my next bike will be a Suzuki.

If bikes were women the Brutale would be a smoking hot blonde in a sexy red dress.  Unbelievably pretty, but not much edge.

The Monster Duc, which I find the most visually pleasing nekid bike (prior to viewing the euro FZ1), would be the raven-haired beauty winning in a drinking contest against a trucker.  Very pretty, but too dangerous for most.

My new dream-bike the euro FZ1, would be the sultry girl who kicked the trukcers ass, then out drank the raven-haired girl, while mocking the blonde to the point of tears, all before she ruffed me up and took advantage of me.  Then she kicked my ass out of bed and told me to make pancakes.

The GSR600 looks like the FZ6N we have over here. Similar style headlight, and also underseat pipes.

Seems the US doesn't get any mid sized bikes unless they have a screen. Over in AU we get the Kawa Z750, FZ6N, and now this GSR600, all naked bikes, whereas the US only gets the bikini faired FZ6S and the hideously ugly Z750S.
