I stopped at Citgo on the way to work to get some snacks. When I walked back to my bike, a guy asked my of that was a new GS. I told him it was a 2001 and he said "a gs500 right?" I smiled and said yes and he went on to tell me that he had just moved here from Cali and his first bike was an '89 gs500. I responded "ahh the one with the clip-ons" and he smiled and said yes. He then said what a wonderful bike the gs was and how sad he was when he had to sell it. He then said "Well that is a nice bike you have there and be safe." I told him thank you and to be safe too. It was nice that someone actually recognized the bike and appreciated it. Wonderful :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
I found that there was always someone at the local sportbiker hangout/restaurant that recognized the bike and reminisced a bit about their first...

The last time I stopped at Citgo with my bike the guy thought it was a Buell :dunno:
No babes there either - thats where all the locals hang out
You know you're dealing with the good sort of rider when they recognize what you're riding and want to check it out even if it's not shiny and expensive. Means they care more about riding than appearance :thumb:
Man, I love looking at rat-bikes and older Japanese models that look like their owners pay attention to keeping their bikes running. They might not be pretty, but it shows whoever is riding wants to keep their bike going as long as possible :)
If I was at Citgo, I'd hit on ur GS 8)
hit on the gs all ya want..... i'd rather have a girly hit on me!!!!!

That's right, there are no babes local to Upper Michigan. Spend enough time there, and you, too will come to appreciate the beauty of a woman in plaid flannel.
