Title: Quick Release fitting on fuel line
Post by: Crim on October 10, 2005, 08:34:21 PM
I have a 98 GS and while trying to determine the cause of my bike not idling all of a sudden (a quick turn of the idle adjustment knob fixed that one up thanks search button!)  I seem to have torn the little rubber O-ring on the fuel line quick disconnect.

This being my first GS500, and the PO did a few mods which included changing out the stock petcock, I'm not entirely sure that this quick disconnect fitting on the fuel line is OEM or something he added.  So that would be my first question... is this an OEM piece or not?

If its OEM, can I just get a new O-ring or fitting from the dealership?

If its not OEM, anyone know of a place that sells fuel line quick disconnects?  I believe this one has the markings GC or CG on it.

Thanks!
Steven

It's not OE.  Stock is hoses on nipples and pinch hose clamps.

Dave's going to have fun with that one...

cool thanks, Pretty much what I figured was the case.  I think I got some niiples around here that I can stick my hose on and be good to go

If it is a white polymer QD then it is probably made by Motion Pro. I use them on my bikes. Sometimes I have to replace the o-ring. I usually use a viton o-ring, mainly because I have a lot of them.

yeah I just ran to autozone and bought a box of a bunch of random sized O-Rings, found one that fit and I was off
