Now that I've got your attention, does anyone know where to get one for an '05, I must say I'm pretty disappointed at the lack of accessories for a GS500F, but I love my bike!
Like a bolt on application wont be happening. But people have done custom ones on this site to "E"s, just do a search and you'll find it. I dont know if a custom turbo would fit on a "F" with the fairing and all.
One thing you'll find is that not many companies make parts to fit a gs500 specifically, and things will be even tougher as you have an '05, since many of the old parts that work on older, naked GS' won't work for you, the second thing you'll find is that the search function is a great friend to have..

granted, there aren't a whole lot of resources for a turboed GS, as it's not usually cost efficient to do, but if you've got the money and spare time, it can obviously be done, I believe you can still contact the guy from the first post I listed, he seems to be a good source.
Good luck, and if you DO manage to turbo your GS, please let us all know, cuz I think it's sweet as hell...
cheffield,
If you are seriously considering turboing your gs, you might check out this turbocharger model as a start:

It'll bolt nicely to the frame and its rated to 3,800hp so you shouldn't have any problem with power delivery on your gs after that.
Easy,
Fin
problem is, the GS would be like a mouse trying to play a tuba. doesnt have the Lungs to spin the pinwheel. gotta use a small turbo unit, KINDA LIKE the one sitting under my seca turbo :)
Anything can be done if you have enough money to throw around. There's a mob over here in AUS that turbo charged a blokes Yamaha Zeal 250. Ended up making over 70rwhp iirc.
Your warranty would be worthless, I'm guessing, as would your fairing. Turbos take up a lot of space on a GS. You almost need to take the airbox out to fit them. If you really want to get crazy with the cheese wiz, maybe add NOS. There was a guy here that did that once.
Yeah... Check the pics: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/bobbygianfagna/album?.dir=e702

Do you know which group it was? :thumb:

Damn... That's a tiny turbo. Most of the turbos I've worked with have their own integral oil pumps and spin-on filters. Hmm... but they weigh more than the GS... Hmmmm....
I'd prefer a blown GS anyhow. Turbo lag really ruins the fun. Now a little roots blower with a large plenum would provide lots of grunt right off the bat. Sound better too, especially if the cam timing was changed to allow cross-scavenging. (Think 4-stroke GE Diesel sound "Glug. Glug. Glug. Glug.") 8)
