JAMESTOWN, Calif. (AP) - A woman suffered a broken collarbone after
she collided with a 250-pound bear.
California Highway Patrol officers said 38-year-old Diana Nichols, of
Dunlap, was going about 50-to-65 mph on her motorcycle on Highway 108
near Jamestown when she struck the bear on Monday afternoon. Nichols
tried to brake but the bear ran into her path, flipping the bike.
Nichols was airlifted to a hospital in Modesto, where she was treated
and released.
Officers believe late-afternoon shadows may have obscured the black
bear, which become increasingly active in fall.
The bear fled the scene after the collision.
So....braking babe biker bunts brown bruin, bear boogies!
I bet that will give her paws when she thinks about bearalling down the road like that again. And no, it snount funny!
The good news is that the bear does have insurace. The bad is that they have a claws that exempts just this kind of accident.
I have a bear paw print tattoo.....bet she's got real prints...

say that three times fast...
are they going to arrest the bear?
We need a warrant out for that bear! I'm so tired of these hit and runs with motorcycles! I mean, cell phones. SUV's, bears, traffic!!! Everyone is trying to cause us to crash! I wonder if the bear even noticed that he caused her to crash? SUV's bears, roads, everythings getting bigger on the roads, except motorcycles, and we're left dealing with hitting or being run over by bigger and bigger objects usually driven by someone who has no concern about the motorcyclist they just sent to the hospital. There needs to be tougher penalties for these kinds of things! I'm bringing out the petition!

this apparent animalistic (prejudice against animals :dunno: ) journalism is making me sick to my stomach! outrageous, i tell you! :x
is it automatically the bear's fault just because it's an dumb animal??
when will our society start treating animals with some decency?
where ever you're bear, i hope you're doing well...please seek help if you're hurt
I guess she did not bear left fast enough.... (yuck yuck yuck..)
Just as a slightly off topic side note....
I think (personally) there need to be more girl bikers... I hate that there are not, and every girl I have been out with just wants to ride with me, not on her own. :(
My woman rides on her own!! :thumb: Yup, what do you think the GS is for.
Now I will expand upon your statement. "I think (personally) more women need to work on their own GS's! I wish more women would work on their own bikes. Every woman I have been out with doesn't know how to get their hands dirty!!" I'm tired of being on this board all alone!! :(
The end

Oh this post so deserves a round of puns. Guess I'll start with an obvious one.
Must have been a grisly sight. :thumb:

I collided with a beer last night, but you don't see me making any headlines.
Dave
Not only do I have girlfriend who rides, She's on he SV while I'm on a GS. Neither of us are particularly good at wrenching right now, but we both want to learn.

Weelll I think you are in the right place. Cool to see someone else who's lady has the right priorities! Congratulations.
(sorry no funny pun to add)
Someone should resurect the "post a pic of your wife/girlfriend" thread so you guys can show us your significant others and their sweet rides!
I'm just too lazy to find that thread. :P

+1!!!!
I love that thread for some reason even thought Davipu said my ex-girlfriend wasn't that good looking.
It's in odds and ends and a photo of my girlfriend is there now. :) I'm a lucky one...

Are you insinuating the GS is for women? You ass.
Oh yeah, the GS Is SOOOO for women! Thats exactly right. In fact any motorycycle under the 600 cc designator, is thereby a kitty cat bike! yeah thats it! You have to have a big awesome sport bike, or cruiser with at least a 180 rear to be a man's man on a motorycycle! If you don't, well then I guess you are a girl, just like my girlfriend. In fact thats why I frequent this board so often, not because I have a GS or anything, you know, just because I must be a girl as well.
Now that's over with. I bought the GS for me as a commuter bike, but it was quickly confiscated that night by my girlfriend as her new beginner bike. Her tradeoff for letting me keep the Ducs in the living room. I love the GS, and its a great way to get around town.
Now, .... back to the bear.
(ok now I have a pun) Please bear in mind, you shouldn't make assumptions.

more women should ride bare.
Opps, I mean bear.
