I went the Shenandoah Valley Hot Air Balloon & Wine Festival at Historic Long Branch over the weekend. I was there on Saturday morning. Sorry, I did not ride so no GS pictures. Anyway, I was kind of disappointed to see less than 10 balloons. And only a handful actually flew.
The last picture is shot from one of many overlook on Skyline Drive. I got to drive the entire length of the Drive. I really wished I was on my GS... :(
Enjoy!
PS. The All State balloon is getting deflated by strong wind. They were giving free rides (went only about 30ft up). There people on board when it deflated and eventually crashed down. :o

As a birthday present one year, My girlfriend's parents paid for her and I to go up on a hit air balloon ride. It took us from southern New York and we landed an hour later in northern Pennsylvania, and we brought back by a chase car. It was a really nice ride, very serene. It wasjust her and I and the pilot. Here are a couple low quality photos:
The balloon we were in, getting ready for take off:

The torch thing that propels the balloon (yes it is hot and it drips on you...haha)

And a view from the sky...

I have some other pictures but most of them are more ariel views. If you ever get a chance to go on on, do it! It is normally about $150 a person or so for an hour's ride, atleast that is what it is around here. :thumb:
Oooooooo
Pretty.
Very nice. You obviously know your way around a camera. The Remax and next photo are beautifull. What'd you shoot this with?
What this thread really needs is some motorcycles.

Nice pics :thumb:. Too bad for that All State one, hope the people were ok when it crashed.
Check out this joke:
A man in a hot air balloon realized he was lost.
He reduced altitude and spotted a woman below. He descended a bit more
and shouted, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would
meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The woman below replied, "You're in a hot air balloon hovering
approximately 30 feet above the ground. You're between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude."
"You must be in Information Technology," said the balloonist.
"I am," replied the woman, "How did you know?"
"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is,
technically correct, but I've no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help at all. If
anything, you've delayed my trip."
The woman below responded, "You must be in Management."
"I am," replied the balloonist, "but how did you know?"
"Well," said the woman, "you don't know where you are or where you're
going. You have risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot
air. You made a promise, which you've no idea how to keep, and you
expect people beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is you are
in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my fault."
and the moral of the story is...don't ask a woman for directions.
unless she's a hot lesbian making out with another lesbian
Lesbien. It's spelled lesbien.
