My name's Callista, hail from Callifornia where actors can be the next president ya- dah ya- dah yah duh.... I'm new to the forum, in the bike lust stage. Gonna schedule my class for the Holidays... I'm a student at SJSU... marketing. Love a challenge, anything athletic and mentally challenging too. I think that's why I train Brazilian Jiu-jitsu :guns:
Enough on the BIO:
What are your top 5 songs for a sunday ride? Realize, you're not really limited to 5, if there's an album or a couple of artists say so... I'm just trying to get an idea of what people like to listen to when they ride...
Okay, I don't have a bike Y-E-T, but when I do I will load my MP3 player with the following. Goldfrapp Supernature, and FisherSpooner Odyssey. Especially the following songs:
Supernature:
5. Let it take you
6. Fly ME away
11. Number 1
Odyssey:
1. Just let go
2. Cloud
5. Never Win
Both albums are delightful, but if I'm going for the best those are the winners. :thumb:
welcome Callista, from a fellow native californian.
I dont listen to music when I ride, unless you consider Jardine music (I do).

I hum to myself sometimes.
I wear a hooded sweatshirt under my helmet and jacket and fart into it.

But can you carry a tune?

+1
Hell yah you can... My friend Ant and I jimmy rig our MP3 players... (Probably not the safest thing...) I have a sport one that straps on to my arm... MY MuVO sport goes everywhere with me. I swear I'm always listening to music if givine the chance. Anywhere in transit basically.
How about this, IF you could listen to anything while you were riding what would it be?...
Welcome!
SJSU must mean you're somewhat local. Check out Doc Wong's Corner on BayAreaRidersForum.com for free riding clinics, and if you join over there be sure to post in the Newbies forum first. Sometimes I'm a group leader for the Doc Wong rides (slow group, no worries; although I've been known to lead group 1 when he's not there).
I still hum 'Flight Of The Valkyries' when I ride, but I've found myself singing Aerosmith lyrics, lately, expecially 'Love in an elevator'.

The other day I was singing the theme music to an old NES game titled, "Gunsmoke". It has some of the best video game music ever. Another one I hum on a regular basis is the theme to Zelda, and Mario Bros. One of my favorite songs to listen to while driving is "Radar Love", I'm not sure who it is by though. "Country Roads" by John Denver is another good one. You just can't beat powerful classical music, like "Star Wars" or "Boondock Saints" Theme music. "Ride of the Valkeries" ain't too bad either.

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Sometimes when humming Flight of the Valkyries, I'll break into, "Kill the Wabbit, kill the Wabbit!"

Golden Earring - Radar Love
Great driving song!
IF I could or would listen to music I would listen to Nickelback, esp. "Figure you out". Its a song that someone added to a video of streets of willow track a long time ago and I've had it in my head ever since.
Anyone else think Mellisa Goldfrapp is Marc Bolan reincarnated ?

Whoah, I do that too :o
I don't listen to music on my GS, atleast I haven't yet. Havent made up my mind if I want to do that or not. Perhaps on my next 100+ mile highway ride, I might bring my mp3 player but around town, I dont think I'd want to. :dunno:
In the car, I listen to EVERYTHING from Slipknot to Bob Marley, to Skynerd to Kenny Chesney to Nirvana and Green Day to Jimmy Buffet :thumb:

Radiohead. Anything that's not their first album and especially the songs: Idiotique, The National Anthem, My Iron Lung, Blackstar, Paranoid Andriod, and Let Down.
NiN (all albums), Pixies (most albums), Violent Femmes- Add it Up, Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here and The Wall.
Amon Amarth, Once sent from the Golden Hall ( Kick ass album )
Immortal, At the Heart of Winter ( Another kick ass album )
Then maybe some Pantera, older Metallica and throw in some Iron Maiden for good measure.
Oh and any compilation disc i have has to have "horse with no name" on it somewhere. Awesome song.
Welcome to GSTwin, la femme!
