Anyone know how to stop the fade / peel of the stickers on an 05F. I have noticed that they are fading and starting to crack. I cover my bike when home and I do wax it. If anyone has suggestions on wax that might be better to help prevent this it would be appriciated. I use meguire's gold class with carnuba wax. I do ride everyday rain or shine and i know this is more likely the culprit, but when they start to look like exptreme crap i am going to take the decals off and paint it myself.
:? i have no idea
You have an 05 that is deteriating? Something must be wrong. Or, it's a standard thing I've never heard of. Could very well be craptacular decals.I see old bikes with stickers still; although they may have been replaced.
Btw, how much do you wax it? It seems to me, that twice a year should be good. Out of all the things you listed, the wax (maybe the method) could be the culprit. It could be: wax vs stickers = no decals.
i wax it before the winter good and in the spring good so twice a year. Just keep her clean in between. I havn't had a problem like this before and i am positive others wax over these decals. And i wax by hand, no buffer on the bike.
Hmm..that is strange. I hand wash my bike, and have only waxed it once or twice since I've had it (July 04). I have never had any problems with the factoy decals at all. :dunno:
Yeah, my '04 fairings didn't have the decals coming off even when I bought it (laid down on both sides). Something is wrong.
How bad is it though? Pictures, perhaps?
Still under warrenty?
take it back to the dealer.
I have an 05 all the decals that I have left on the bike are in great condition. . . . the decals are vinyl (misspelled probally) so I don't see why they would crack.
