Title: Plastic removal
Post by: lordabhi on October 21, 2005, 06:48:42 AM
I have 05 GS,  would like to winterize by spraying some oil down the spark plug hole.  Before I start tearing down my fairings this weekend I thought I would ask you guys if there is anything I should know or any pattern I should follow?  This is my first bike with so much plastic around it.  I am used to naked bikes.

The fairings are super easy to take off. Just work your way from the bottom up otherwise you'll be holding fairings up while trying to get the last bottom bolts off. I think it's a 5mm hex screw. There's one on the right side that's a 6mm one, too. It's at the bottom, closest to the rear. It's really easy.

Pop in the middle of the black fasteners on the inside.

Oh crap. I can't believe I forgot those. They're on the bottom middle of the fairing. They hold the two of them together at the bottom.

Gawsh. Silly me.
