What's the worst (grossest, oldest, abnormal) thing you've ever eaten?
I'll tell mine when someone tops it...
When I was about 8 or 9 years old, I come in from playing outdoors and I was really THIRSTY. I was all out of breath and run to the refrigerator, and grabbed the first drink that I saw: a gallon of milk.
I took a great big chug of it and sucked it down (right out of the gallon, that will teach me to do that again) and was about to take another chug when I noticed something "chunky". I spit the milk out and looked at the clear plastic jug and saw that the milk had went bad. There were some nasty chunks in there, minus the ones that I swallowed. :o It was also very, very sour and had some discoloration.
Yeah, milk is a drink but I consider it something I ate because it was closer to cottage cheese than milk!
Mmm.
live squid at this sushi place in hiro. mmmmm wasabi.
Someone brought some tripe in once. It kind of tasted like rubber. and if you dont know (i didnt)
"Tripe is the muscular lining of beef stomach (can also be from sheep or pigs, but rarely). It comes in 4 types: the fat part of the first belly (called gras double in France), and three different sections of the honeycomb (the second stomach of the cow)--light, dark, and the partial honeycomb of the 2nd belly's extreme end."
i was helping a friend move...i was very hot and thirsty. i saw a gallon size plastic bottle of orange juice on the kitchen floor. i opened the cap. then, took the biggest gulp that i could manage. i had realized something thick, slimy, and gooey had gone down my throat.
i looked inside the bottle. it was a motor oil! :x
ok ok I'll share....
So when I about 10...i was hungry so I made myself a sandwich and ate about half of it until my brother came along and was like "whats that?" and pointed to my plate. So I looked closer...it was a maggot, opened my sandwhich found about 12 more...not sure how many I ate...they were in the bread....
Took years before I could eat white bread again...
I drank chew spit.
The maggots are gross, though.

Didn't you know that Pigs' brains are made up entirely of chlorestorol?
Yeah. I read that once. Pretty cool.
When I was young I stayed with my Grandpa that would eat anything he would catch or shoot......Groundhog, Raccoon, Goat, Bear, Deer, snake, etc, etc.
Gross things I have ate. I have done the spoiled milk thing. :? Molded bread,
thing is only one thing I ever ate or drank made me puke.... Barium for an MRI. That crap tastes worse than the spoiled milk :o
A wad of rhesus monkey skull, hair and brains about the size of a 50 cent piece. Taught me to keep my mouth closed when using the bone saw in the anatomy lab.
jake
embolmed crustation, lab accident
chew spit, beat the heck out of the friend who set his can next to mine.
deer blood, once agian keep your mouth shut
pork blood, from being a meat cutter when I was younger.
Probably the worst as far as taste is burnt posi lock from a Ford 8.8 rear end.
As far as the maggots go I think you won. :thumb:
maggots, meal worms, Grubs, all easy Providing its not from a rotting corpse and thats mainly for the disease factor.
its the typical everyday meals that many cultures eat can turn your stomach only AFTER you ate and found it delishious as momma's best dish.
For me, it was Manish water Soup. best damn tasting soup ive ever had i swear i had 3 bowls of it when a freind brought it to work. very very popular in jamaica, right up there with Cow Cod Soup.(no i havent and wont) anyway, Manish uses the typical stew swimers : water, veggies, spices and meat.
the meat being a chopped up Goats head, All of it. i still wonder about that small onion that i never found any others in all 3 bowls.
I remember, it was good, dont think i could do it outside of a bet again.
Vegemite tastes BAD!!!
I ate that crap once. Pickled herring sucks too. Wheeew.
Lets see I ate silk worm larva when I lived in Korea they have vendors selling them in little paper cones Yummy!! You can get them in the States but they dont taste as good (They come in a can here) :( . Also had sea urchin once that was terrible very pasty and gritty took about 2 glasses of beer to wash out.

BALUT....eeeeeiiiwwww. The one thing that makes me want to deny my Filipino heritage...(OK, one of the many things, hehehe)
Weirdest thing I ever ate was dog during a business trip to South Korea. They served it just like they do with beef, korean BBQ style. Low table, little grill in the middle, all sorts of seasonings and fixings to mix it up. Not bad.
Grossest thing was some soup I made with my then fiance, she must have had bad flour or something, cause we both realized a couple minutes into eating it that there were tiny little wormlike things it in. It tasted fine but needless to say I had the willys.

They made people eat that on FearFactor...it was sooooooo gross. You could totally see it was a little duck only it was curled up in a little ball to fit into the egg...ughhhhh
I've done the usual rotten milk, fungal bread and slimy meat (college student budget). But the worst thing I can think of was when I was young and visiting relatives in El Paso, we went into mexico and my uncle got me a taco from a road side stand, apparently it was what I wanted and he just gave in to my demands. My dad told me years later that it was actually a dog taco. A little emotional scarring, but would do it again.
