Today...I brought home my first motorcycle. I am utterly infatuated with my new GS. You guys may not be aware...but during the process of shopping for bikes I stopped by this forum and was talked into the GS. I could not be happier with the bike, it's a blue 05 and I picked it up with 6 miles on it. It now has 40 miles on it and it has been great.
Thanks again.
Not a good photo, but a photo none-the-less!

Good choice. :thumb: Hope to see you participating in the forum!
Awww, no more picture :(
Ah well, welcome to the board!
yeah my web hosting through my school (Kansas State) doesn't allow much file transfering. They shut my account off for the day.
Anyone know a good photo-hosting service good for forum use?
Yeah, the picture is named GIRLFRIEND2.jpg and girlfriend1 hates girlfriend2.
Thanks guys!
Try photobucket.com you can link from there.
Welcome
That a sharp looking bike.I done my fender in 5 min it cuts easy.
Congrats on the bike man! Excellent choice for a first bike. The blue '05 is my first bike, too. Picked it up 1 month ago and I have 1,200 miles on it already. Addicting bike to ride! :)

Yeah, the blues are nice, but I think everyone knows the red/black/silvers are WAAYYY cooler... and faster! :)
I bought it last Saturday with 1.3 miles on it and in 8 days I've put over 315 miles on it. I love this bike!!

Very nice, both new '05s.
I just picked up one of dem leftovers.
Thanks Roadstergal. My girlfriend (pictured) almost loves it more than I do... ALMOST.

Thanks for the compliments BOSS. As of right now, I just wanna cut the rear fender and MAYBE get some of that kick ass red tape that you have on your tires. That is an AWESOME modification. :thumb: I MIGHT look into getting a Wileyco Exhaust setup, we'll see. This bike was mainly just to learn to ride on and help prepare me for my next bike. I'm falling in love with it VERY quickly though (well, I'm already in love with it, but...), so I dunno, we'll see what happens.
jakkyl, thanks for the comment. I meticulously wipe her down EVERY day, so we'll see how long I can keep it this clean.

Well, when I first bought mine I had the same intentions. However, having crashed it (only cosmetic) not 15 minutes after buying it, I threw that out the window... :dunno:

lol no it's at my store those are just extra carts my parents used to sell general merchandise but now we sell jewelry but we just never got rid of the carts. thats that yeah it's odd but the only place that has constant shade and right next to the door so i can keep an eye on it.
That's my kinda jewelry store: one with shopping carts!!!!!!! :thumb:
Congrats on the new bike! I have the yellow 04F. I really like it, but I do wish mine was blue.
Picking mine up today was like meeting an old friend again. The 500F is definitely my favorite of all of the bikes I've had. I don't know why. It just feels right. Better than the E, better than the Gixxer.
RG: So now what are you going to do with your '91? Just toss it aside like yesterday's news!? :? Po' lil bike!!! :o :P
Just thought I would drop in on here as well. I've made a couple posts here the past couple days.
I am also new on motorcycles and got a blue '05. No pics yet but soon.....
I am remembering more and more just how clumsy I am. Was out on the first day trying to figure out the clutch and turning and all that jazz and dumped it right away....Going only about 15mph but fast enough to scratch the side up and crack a turn signal. Then again this past weekend I parked the bike and it was at an odd angle or something and it spilled and both rearview mirrors broke off!
I'm a cursed man...but I am working on it and trying to ride as much as I can to get as much time on it so I know what the heck I am doing!!
congrats to all of you guys w/ 05s - I'm jealous as I don't have a GS500 yet :( I'll probably get an E though
Street - you on any of the St Louis boards (car or bike)?
Quote from: pandyRG: So now what are you going to do with your '91.
My plan was always to fix it up some and sell it - and Aaron still seems to want it. :)
I just want to say nice job on the rimstripes guys. :thumb: They are a bit@h to put on. Mine look like they were put on by a drunken blind man...and I usually have a good eye for making things straight. :?

can you post pics of yours please i would like to see yours too :)
I love the black frame. I wonder how much of a pain it is to strip everything and paint the frame on an older bike.
BOSS - your bike looks sweet. I'd love for my bike to look just like that but w/ the regular E headlight and some Srinath bars :D

took these at about 4:30 am this morning, leaving for work. most of the light is from the headlights of my Jeep. really have to get something more scenic than my garage...
with flash:

You can see where I put the extra stripe tape on the base of my helmet.
without flash:

They are yellow, and crooked/wavy.
Love that missing bar end and broken brake lever. Totally custom.
MPA, where are you located exactly? I'm right around the Arnold Area, but I know how to get almost anywhere FAST. We should meet up sometime, that'd be cool to ride w/ a fellow GS'r. :thumb:
BOSS, do you have any close up pics of your exhaust? I'd like to see some nice shots of the weld spot where you welded the Yosh pipe on. Did you do all the work yourself?
Those yellow rim accents look good to me!
