Title: Chip In gas Tank
Post by: SheDevil18 on October 26, 2005, 09:40:53 AM
I have 2 small chips in my gas tank. One from the BF's plate hitting it and one that was there from the factory. What do you guess recommend for repairs? i have touch up paint... will that be enough?

I'm sure someone smarter than me will reply, but...

Touch-up should suffice...  You just need to keep the rust away.  If you have lots of spare time, you can actually make touch-up paint look like it isn't even there...  Really light wet sanding over the touched spot.  REALLY LIGHT.

There is a really great write up on fixing this kind of thing....somewhere on GSTwin. Try using search with "touch AND up" or "painting AND tank". I'll look and edit this post if I find it.

EDIT: Didn't take a minute. Here (http://gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20350&highlight=touch+paint) it is.
