Title: just another reason not to soupport walmart
Post by: davipu on October 26, 2005, 01:52:05 PM
The memo acknowledged that Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer, had to walk a fine line in restraining benefits because critics attacked it for being stingy on wages and health coverage. Chambers in the memo acknowledged 46 percent of the children of Wal-Mart's 1.33 million United States employees were uninsured or on Medicaid.

Wal-mart is not all bad, so the employee benefits are non=exhisistant ( cant spell this morning), the place is always croweded, the people who work there dont care if you need help or not, Wal-Mart is killing all the mom and pop shops in all the cities / towns that they open up in, the worst thing is they have 20 something registers and only 4 or 5 open  :x   I hate waiting in lines  :x

Target is great because hot chicks go there.  But it is important to support Wal-Mart because the success of the Kansas City Royals, indirectly, depends on the success of Wal-Mart.

Sorry was being sarcastic. . . . I cant think of anything good about walmart except they have low prices.  But if you shop arround you can usually get the same stuff for about the price wal-mart has it for.

Yeah I see nothing wrong with Walmart's bullying business tactics that have forced hundreds of companies to ship production overseas to the cheapest bidder.  I mean, who cares that my freakin bath towel was made by an enslaved 18 year old girl, anyways?  Health benifits?  What the hell are those?  But hey, as long as I can dry my $5k motorcycle (toy) off with a cheap as hell towel, who cares??!?!!  This is America, land of the free!!!

There is something wrong with a company that uses it's size to push their vendors around until the company eventually goes out of business.  So many of the brands that they sell count on Walmart to keep them alive, yet as Walmart demands that the prices are lower than these companies are able to meet, most companies are left with two choices.

Option #1: fire people, ship production overseas and STILL not be able to meet the prices (thus go bankrupt), or

Option #2: stop selling to Walmart (thus go bankrupt).

It's a sick place with sick, corrupt business tactics.

Business is business.

Everybody's got to make a buck.  If you can't watch your own ass. . . who should watch it for you.

I'm sure other retailers play nice.

There are a couple of billionaires in Missouri that think Wal-mart is a pretty cool place and they thank you for your patronage.

???  So much for selling out your own species just to "make a buck".  Who needs compassionism anyways?

I need compassionism, I guess.

I also could use some companionisms, organizationism, and motivationism.

Lets just all shop on the internet.

Why?

1) Going to Wal-Mart usually means that we have to drive a car, and who really wants to do that?

2) Shipping to your door!  :thumb:

3) Mr.7 said so! (you: :o , Me: , Pandy:  :?)

Don't get me started!!!!!
Ok......some news about "Wally World" down here at the bottom of the USA. A LOT of people have the extreme "red-ass" at them. We discovered that they are no longer selling guns or ammunition. This comes at a bad time. It is hunting season and this area is filled with "shootists" and hunters/outdoor people. This condition has sent many into a frothing at the mouth frenzy. At first we thought it had something to do with the hurricane and the cops disarming citizens in New Orleans (in their homes) while packs of savages were roaming the streets (which DID happen) (the NRA was successful in getting a Judge to block the police from doing so any longer and forced them to return all confiscated weapons.... period and immediately). We then found out that it DID have something to do with the hurricane in that the records of serial numbers of the guns the looters had stolen could not be accounted for. They had screwed up in misplacing serial numbers in the book keeping and this got them in deep caca with the ATF. So "the government" has stopped ALL Wal-Mart stores in LA and MS from selling guns and ammo. If any of you live in North Louisiana or Mississippi and know this to be not true in certain areas, please let me know. Of course this is GREAT for the Gun Shops and Mom and Pop businesses that sell both. It is sad, however, that just about the only 2 items that were Made in America that Wal-Mart sold are no longer with them! Hahahahahahhahahah. Thanks for the rant, Wilson

Um...you used the words "success" and "Kansas City Royals" in the same sentence.  I'm confused.  :?  :P
