Title: Dear really tiny people or really big people...
Post by: My Name Is Dave on October 27, 2005, 07:51:52 AM
So I get emails from Newenough.com about new specials, and this morning I was delighted to find a pair of Teknic (I have 2 Teknic jackets) leather sport pants marked down to $99. Oh, man, I can finally get leather pants!

So I get to the site and check them out. They look good for $99. So I even go as far as dropping my pants with my office door open so I could see if I really was a size 34 waist. Yep, so I go to order...and they offer 3 sizes, one which is much too small and two which are much too large. Sucks for me, but may be helpful for others.

Holy helmet shine! You have a 24-inch waist? shaZam! woman, I thought my 34 was small. You're nearly a foot smaller in diameter than I am. Our kids would be little skinny shitheads.

34 isnt that bad..my dad is 6'5" and over 200lbs and wears a 34..granted its all freakish upper body muscle from being a farmer but still! My lil bro is almost 6ft and only wears a 28, he's skinny. Now that I got him riding its hard to find stuff that fits him too cause he's so tall and thin..

OK, you win: I'm 6"1' and have a 34. That's probably normal. Your dad and brother, however, are like bean stalks.

Good day.

Perfectionism is for those people who look in all directions looking for perfection. It can't be found to the front or the rear, the right or left....they will never see it because they are looking externally with their eyes, not internally with their heart  ;) Happiness never comes from anything external, and some people struggle with that.

I have a 36 inch waist. I think it mates perfectly with a 24 inch waist, especially from the rear.      :nono:    :o  :thumb:

Yeah, it's hard for me to find leathers that fit me too. I was really excited when I got RGs old pants (because they actually fit me). 30 inch waist or less, tall, skinny. I know how you feel, onlypastrana. I think I might have it a bit better though, as I can fit in to size Small stuff usually :)

What's up with men's Big & Tall shops.  I get told, 'Oh, since you're so tall, you can go to one of those shops.'  Riiiiight. I need Big OR Tall, not Big AND Tall!

And all the good stuff is made for people with stubby arms and legs.  Nothing for me! :P  Even worse with cycle gear.  All of 1 or 2 choices, and they are mostly crap!

And I plan on dropping another 10 pounds or so to get to a 31-32 waist...   just making myself more problems by getting in shape!  I'm gonna need my riding jackets taken in, they were at their 'thin' adjustment limits before...

 Here's to being skinny...  Better than worrying about stuff being too tight around the waist

I have a 30 inch waist so i have enough trouble finding things my size.  Often i'm referred to either children or womens products which would be ok if i liked the occasional pink leathers.  Recently i was looking for a streamliner vest for my vanson jacket.  They did not have one small enough for me and told me they probably wouldn't be getting any either.  I went on ebay and found a woman in jersey selling a "womans" streamliner in a small selling it for less than half the price (brand new).  i went to vansons site to look at the womens streamliner vest and guess what...? linked me to the mens vest.  Long story short...got it on ebay...fits perfect.

This begs the question:  should i occasionally look in the womens section for bike attire..??  Well only if disguised.  Like in a dress maybe.  "course i'd have to shave.... :P

Actually, I've found that it's not uncommon for some items to be unisex. You're the only one that would know for whom the gear was made. :P ;)

Yeah, that's half the point!  You have to be BLIND to not see me.  Not that it helps much.   :?

BTW:  Chicks dig bright colo*U*rs.  Peacock feathers.  Yeah... It's all about the plumage.

All these dark colours.  If I had to live with PURPLE I'd probably slit my wrist just to change the colour of the walls to bright RED to enjoy for the few seconds before everything goes BLACK. :x
