Title: A car hurts
Post by: gs500freak on October 28, 2005, 03:26:32 PM
well as you can tell i was hit today. i was on my way to work and was hit by a lady who didn't see me. she was coming on to the road off a side street and didn't see me till my bike met her car. the worst part was watching my bike bike hit another car going on the oncoming side. it took off the front bumper of a accord. i am alright luckly, i just got some road rash and a hurt leg. i am glad i walked away from it. well time to deal with her insurance.

T-boned by an inattentive cage?  Sounds like mine.  Sorry, that sucks, but at least she'll be paying for a new bike and gear.  Speaking of gear - road rash was gear failure or no gear?

Glad to hear that you're relatively okay.  Thank goodness you weren't still with the bike when it hit the other car.  Sounds like a really surreal experience...

Does insurance usually cover gear?

When I was hit, the gal's insurance covered 100% of the original helmet value and current ACV of the rest of the gear.

I was t-boned in May 2 1/2 years ago.  Pinhead ran a stop sign and ran into me. He was looking to the right on a one way street that only approaches from the left. I suffered a broken foot.  Helmet and leathers saved my life.  No roadrash as i was on a Brooklyn street. But i was airborn about 30 feet and landed on my back onto concrete.  i distinctly remember hearing the sound of the back of my helmet cracking as it hit the sidewalk.  My GS didn't fare too badly.  Anyhow...i met my fiance in the E.R. for the very first time. (We're getting married Sunday 10/30/05). Sold the GS on ebay, bought a Monster.  Two months ago collected a 12K settlement from pinheads insurance company.

I'll post that story under a separate title..

Anyhow..glad your ok.  Someone was watching over you.  Hope your as lucky as i was..!!!   ;)

I'm glad you're relatively ok.   I'm sorry to hear you had the accident. :(

Post up pics of your war injuries if you can. It doesn't hurt for us to see the rash from time to time.
