Title: End of season pics
Post by: Grainbelt on October 31, 2005, 01:18:29 PM
Well, its been a great first season. Thanks to all for the technical help along the way. Couple of pictures of the GS in scenic SK for ya. For a 13 year old bike, doens't look too bad.  My apologies for the low quality pics, I need to find a place to host bigger files...

It's so... flat. The GS does look to be in pretty good condition from what I can see. For an old bike, you've taken good care of it.

"They realized they had discovered a land so flat, that by lying on their backs, all sight of the earth was lost. . ."

The leaves are gone already!  :o

Nice bike.  Nice pics.  Try www.photobucket.com

Yup.  We're flatlanders.  The biggest measure of skill out in the midwest is to see who can drive a tractor in a perfectly straight line the longest before falling asleep.

Nice pics Grainbelt.  Reminds me of home.  Hope you had a better yield that we did in So. IL   :x

They've been gone for 2 weeks now... Its quite sad actually.

The one thing I'll say about the flatness is that it makes for amazing sunrises and sunsets, to the point that its distracting while driving.

Geep - near record canola crop up here, not sure about wheat and barley. Manitoba had a bad year, SK and AB fared pretty well.

Anybody with a US-spec 89-01 GS, try to read the KM/H numbers on your speedometer sometime. They're effing tiny!

Flat but...not as flat as Nebraska.

My friend's dog got off his leash and we watched it run away for 3 days.

LOL! That was pretty damn funny gsmetal!!

I'm gonna have to disagree with the statement that the midwest is flat. I live about 40 minutes south of St.Louis MO and there is nothing flat about where I live. I LOVE all of the curvy, twisty roads out by my house. It makes for a great time.  :thumb:

More fun at the expense of people from Nebraska:

Regarding college football -

What does the 'N' stand for on the helmet of Nebraska football players?

(it's funny when you say it instead of writing it.)

Yeah, moved up to Canada a month ago.  Trust me, no roads like the one we took in wisconsin. I've become very good at tucking in behind the windscreen and twisting my right wrist to extreme angles.

Totally unrelated note - are there any sort of D/P tires for the GS? There are a ton of gravel roads around here, and it would be kinda fun to take the GS out on them with a little more confidence.  Seeing as there is no opportunity to do any real cornering, seems like a decent idea.
