The Honda rider was traveling at such a "very high speed", his reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. Swedish Police estimate a speed of ~250 KM/h (155mph) before the bike hit the slow moving car side-on at an intersection. At that speed, they predicted that the rider's reaction time (once the vehicle came into view) wasn't sufficient enough for him to even apply the brakes. The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 10 feet from where the collision took place.
All three involved (two in car and rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at the Stockholm Motorcycle Fair by the Swedish Police and Road Safety Department. The sign above the display also noted that the rider had only recently obtained his license.
At 250 KM (155 mph) the operator is traveling at 227 feet per second. With normal reaction time to SEE-DECIDE-REACT of 1.6 seconds the above operator would have traveled over 363 feet while making a decision on what actions to take. In this incident the Swedish police indicate that no actions were taken.

also, I have read that this was staged (notice that the tail section of the bike is totally intact) as part of a "don't drive/ride drunk" demonstration as is done at high schools around the US, where a wrecked car or two are brought in as a visual aid.
The accident was real, but it was put on tour.

how could they have cleaned up enough of the "chunks" to put that on display? I'd have to guess and hope it was staged. they would have had to cut up the car and remove the bike to shovel out what was left of the occupants. the upper half of rider's probably went over the car if he really hit that fast.
that's a grizzly reminder to slow down and be careful. but even moreso to remember any day you could get blindsided, so make the most of what you've got.
My guess is that it's half staged. The story and vehicles are true, but they tore everything apart to get the "people" out then put the bike back into the car for effect.
And if it happened in the U.S.A. , the article in the paper would either say "The rider was not wearing a helmet", or, if the rider was wearing a helmet and was killed anyway, the article simply would not say anything about the helmet. You never see "The rider was not seriously hurt, and was not wearing a helmet", or "The rider was killed while wearing a helmet". Not that I'm against helmets: I always wear a full face helmet. I just hate media bias, the agenda that they have, the half lies by omission, and propoganda.
