The "NiceGuysFinishLast" dude has got to stop threadjacking every stinking thread.  I have nothing against the kid, but it would be nice for him to show a little respect for the OP and elders by letting a few threads go without his random input.

I mean this with all respect, I'm not trying to create enemies.  I just don't like tuning into my favorite current thread (usually something technical) to read 22 posts of him talking about being asian and cute.  Maybe he could just post in the "Odds n Ends" forum instead of infecting a post where people are giving legitimate technical information.

I don't think it is all his fault; I think most everyone is a little guilty of being chatty off-topic. I've done it. And it takes more than one post / poster to completely threadjack a discussion. So I don't think it is soley his fault  ;)

Since he is a complete noob, er nood, he is in an awkward stage. He does not have a lot of experience so he does not have a lot of technical information to offer, but he is past all of the initial questions one has before he begins riding. I think he is participating in the best way he knows how at the moment. And all anyone can do is their best.

However, it also would not hurt to take your advice and mellow out a little with the threadjacking. Perhaps in the post he could say something ore on-topic AND include his little blubs about being "cute" and 'asian' or whatever.  :lol:

Oh, did you guys see anything interesting some out of the SEMA show (http://www.fast-autos.net/sema05.html) this past week? I'm digging the idea of a hardtop Solstice, but the concept at the show was kinda fugly.

Oh, did you guys see this new Numark iDJ (http://www.numark.com/products/product_view.php?v=overview&n=132)? Looks perfect for people who have been trying to mix iPods all this time. I think I'm sold.

Hijactivisim has a long and glorious tradition.  There is the subtle way of doing it, where you refer to the post but steer the direction elsewhere.  Then there is the blatant jack, where you just hop in and say something utterly unrelated.

I'm inclined to agree with you both, Phaedrus and Danimal. While it is slightly annoying to see most threads go awry and have useful information sometimes thrown in, it can also be noted that he does sometimes offer a useful nugged thrown in. He seems to be taking care of most of his noob questions beforehand.

Hey, thanks for the replies everyone.  I am by no means against threadjacking.  I am guilty of it on many occasions, and I enjoy joking around as much as the next guy.

Well..perhaps I'm such a notorious threadjacker that I'd not notice, but I didn't notice NGFL doing anything but joining in on the fun. We're ALL certainly "guilty" of threadjacking, and, next time, perhaps you can rail again the SIN rather than an individual?  :dunno:

Nah, no reason for you to leave  :thumb:  I think Danimal is just trying to say, do what you do but in MODERATION. Moderation is the key. Threadjacking happens. Off topic happens. We're not rebots, it is going to happen.

Just be a little more mindful of where the thread should be going and contribute what you can, but have fun at the same time. Like I said we are not robots - and sometimes it is the "imperfections" that make this forum the great thing that it is.  :thumb:

Well, true to his name, it looks like Niceguysfinishlast got chased off by Danimal.  That sucks.  Nice kid.  He said in another thread that he is done posting here for a while.

Kind of sad, actually.  The board has been home to all types, good and bad.  He always seemed well intentioned.

He's just taking a break, but I do think the circumstances surrounding his break suck. I sent him some GSTwin love through YIM (now don't you turn this into anything weird, you pervs! Think MOTHERLY!) :P  :lol: I think he'll be back before HE knows it. ;)

There have been a few people these last couple of weeks that get too verbally aggressive on here and intimidate others. Then there are the other ones who let thsemselves get offended and basically allow themselves to be bullied. Most of you will know what I am talking about ;)

Sometimes you need someone to say "Hey man, take a step back and look at what you are doing. It isn't cool. There is a better way".  8)  And you might very well see "Yes, I see how I could do things better. Thanks for pointing that out".

And..sometimes you just gotta tell some MOFO thats "all up in your face" to back the frock off  :x . "Sit down before I sit you down" sort of thing. let'em know you are not going to take their shaZam! (or s#$% for you ladies).  :lol:

What is really important is knowing when to say "I was wrong and I am sorry, I'll change my behavior" and when to say "Biatch, back the frock off before I bust yur face".  :P
