I want to buy a new bike, but there are the problems with it. I'm not familiar with bike repair so I have no idea how much this will cost. I need an idea. Also could someone explain what it means when the carbs are running rich, the floats stick and the bowl needs to be cleaned?
The carbs. need to be rebuilt as it is running rich right now. I believe the floats are sticking and it may just need the bowls cleaned out which is a fairly easy fix. However, to be safe, I would account for a complete rebuild. It also needs a headlight as the high beam is out, though the low beam works still. Lastly, it needs a right side mirror.

I don't know how much in $$$, but If you have about a half day, you can do it yourself. It is easy.
Ok, so, carbs running rich could be a few things, but I would check the idle air mixture screw. It might be as easy as that.
Floats stuck means, clean it; that would be cleaning the bowl. The floats float in the bowl.

Headlight you can really do yourself. Easy as one, two screws on the side of the light. Take rubber thing off, and replace bulb. (ah, this is assuming the bike is the non-f version.)
To repaint, it could cost you from $300 to $3000. Depends on how much work you do yourself, how good of a job you want them to do, and how nice of a place it is.
If you are still wanting to have someone do it, I think $3-400 should cover it. Maybe a bit less. I donno, haven't done it myself. I know a friend took his in for a tune-up (whatever that includes) and it cost him 250 or so.

If you decide to do the work yourself, plan to make a bit of a mess, take about a day, and get frustrated for no good reason. :lol: Then come back here and look up how to do whatever your having problems with. Then figure it out, and be totally satisfied, proud and $300 richer. This board has tons of info about everything you could think to ask, It is just hidden in the past. Use the search with 'Search for all terms' options, and you will find lots. Don't worry about asking here, just remember people like helping thoes who help themselves.
