Made a race stand this weekend.
Every weekend it is something. I bent some 1" tubing, and welded it together with my 110mig. The tops of the stand that hook onto the spools of the swingarm, are utility hooks from the hardware store. I pinched together the tubing at the top, and made a tighter fit on the hooks. I used some rollerblade wheels for the pivot, some end caps from the hardware for the axle ends. Then I fitted some heater hose for the handle.
Just testing it out, i scratched my swingarm, so I had to bend the hooks outword, and then I put some heatshrink on the hooks to cover any rough edges. Anyway, a fun little project. I can get rid of my center stand, and now when I do maintenance on the rear end, I can move the bike around with the wheels on the stand.

Good job! (I see the scratch)
Nice Stand, I'll take it. I'll give you $10.
Not bad at all. Maybe if I turn the GS into a race bike I'll PM you for design help! :) Still very well done.
Thanks!
It doesn't just have to be for racing. especially if you like to tinker. I know a few of you like projects, and like to fabricate.
There is less then $15 worth of material there.

Yeah, I know some folks that tinker by taking the centerstand off. This could be quicker than trying to put it back on to use it.
Very nice. I especially like the red "X"s.
It shouldn't be red x's..... i can see the pictures, and so can a few others.
