Well since i went down i lost my baby (Arai Quantum-F Okada) and she needs replaced. I will not be spending the rediculous amount of money arai asks for (400-800) for a lid, especially after the article in motorcyclist. So What do you guys suggest for something comparable for comfort and weight and of course safety but better pricing ?
So far ive looked at the
HJC's
- AC-11(Revenge design) http://www.helmetharbor.com/estore/products.cfm?seriesid=HJC+AC-11+Full-Face+Helmet
- AC-12(Yikes design) http://www.helmetharbor.com/estore/products.cfm?seriesid=HJC+AC-12+Helmet
Scorpion ex-700 or 400 (scorpion Octane blue design)

i am leaning more toward the AC-12, a bit heavier then my old helmet (+1/4 pound) but has a sexy design and is decent priced.
Besides the ex-700 had the worst rating of all the helmets tested
so what is your opinion?
Not having experienced either of these helmets (Roadstergal has), I'm more impressed with the Scorpions.
o you dont have to be experienced with them, im more then willing to check out som other helms not on the list, just dont wanna spend more then 300 really.
Get the Scorpion. The was a high BS quotient in the Motorcyclist article.
do you know which article im speaking of? Seemed pretty evidence based to me, dont know if i wanna "chance" it or not... :dunno: i hate decisions!
i wish they still made the quantum f and for 300 like when i bought it offline make my life much easier lol
Which one fits you best? Get that one.

Yep.
I've had Shoei and Bell, Shoei I liked best. Currently, I have a Tz-1. If you do get one of these, it is mandatory that you order a FogCity ProShield, as the ventilation is horribly inadequate (you can still breathe  ).
Ya I have a Shoei RF-1000 and found the vents to be pretty bad. Esp compared to my friends Arai
The psuedoscience in that Motorcyclist article was laughable.
The Scorpions have a far better build quality and feel than the AJC's, a better anti-fog visor, and slightly nicer helmet liner. The visor removal system is 6 on one, half a dozen on the other.
I recently bought an OGK FF-4 and really, really like it (for the price). It moves a ton of air through the helmet and is very, very aerodynamically stable (I get next to 0 head buffeting in heavy semi traffic and crosswinds). The ability to use tear-offs has been a lot handier than I thought it would be. It needs a Fog City visor liner, though.
