Title: How do I get the bike off of the center stand?
Post by: Roadstergal on November 14, 2005, 01:53:22 AM

And while I'm asking questions, I seem to have an exhaust leak.  Suggestions?

A sharp tug to the handle bars ought to get her off that centre stand.
:D

It should also greatly reduce your concern about the exhaust leak.

:)  How about the reverse of how you got it "on" the center stand.  :)

...and a slip-on can should take care of that open ended pipe exhaust would leak out of...  8)

use the same hoist you put it up there with.  Dont go cutting on the exhaust with air powered tools, Whats so hard about that :dunno:

1. Climb up there and mount the bike. Turn it on, disengage the clutch, and rev it up to like 9k.

2. Engage the clutch and push/lean your weight on the rear of the bike quickly and simultaneously. Your timing is crucial!

3. Fly through the wall "Torque Style"  8)

Yep, that what I would do. You might want to wear a helmet. [/b]

Oh. Wait. You were talking about not having a muffler, wern't you?

It was late. I was tired.

However, the best way to get the bike off the centerstand is to stand off to the left side, holding the bars with your hands. Make sure that the front wheel is straight, and push with all your might! As soon as the front wheel touches the ground grab the front brake and lean the bike towards you a bit to make sure it doesn't fall.

After that it's simply a matter of doing a burnout on the piece of iron it's on.

Pushing the bike off the table should do the trick.

Looked like there was fancy welding equipment in that shop.  Cut the table legs on one side of the table and stand back.

Should do the trick

#1.  Get a strager, a cubby to fat one, and tell them that they have won a new GS500f
#2.  Show them the bike as it sits and say it is all theirs
#3.  Push bike over from opposite side onto strangerwhile the look at their prize, ensuring minimal damage.
#4.  Using legs pry bike off stranger and ride away with minimal damage.

edit : Exaust leak = use duct tape
