i don't know if anyone saw a piece on pbs revealing how the top oil companies are hijacking the oil industry. it's being going on for a decade or more.
they control the gas price by controlling the domestic oil supply. here are the some of the tactics used to accomplish just that.
1. buy out or force smaller independent refineries to shut down. they're almost non existent today.
2. buy the gas from independent refineries. now they have the control over they gas supply.
3. shut down refineries. mobile had shut down one of the most profitable refineries in california citing that the refinery were losing millions and there weren't enough crud in the area. both couldn't be furthur from the truth.
3. export gas to foreign countries. you'd surprised to know how hundreds of millions gallons of gas are being exported. it was reported that a tanker was leaving a us port for south america just before katrina.
Cheapest I've seen is $2.20/gal for 87 octane.
I have no doubt in my mind that something is up.
2.09 or 2.11 a couple a days ago

umm...what ever...you know what i meant.
Do you believe that the major oil companies have conspired to control the domestic gas price?
Its really not a matter of "belief", its OPEC. And Yes, they limit production of member countries to inflate their profits.
$2.79Reg/$3.09Premium
Walking is nice, I guess :x

They control some of the supply of crude, but the limiting factor in the US is refining, not the crude source.
Fossil fuels are a non-renewable resource on our current time scale anyway. We have all the warning we need and then some to look to alternatives that are renewable on the scale with which we consume.
Cheapest I've seen local is $2.49/gallon for 87 octane. Highest is still around $2.59ish for 87.
damm here in southern missouri its only 1.97

Actually, we're getting farther, but that's a whole different conversation.
You guys have it good, I've seen it at $1.43 a litre for 95, that works out at about $5.30 a gallon :?
This is the main reason I got my bike back on the road.
Petrol has dropped the past few weeks.
On my trip to Danville last weekend, I payed any where from 2.39 to 1.91 gallon. The prices seem to rise and fall by county line.
1.91 a gallon is right here on the island. and they pump it too. 8)
2.07 today using the Kroger card :thumb: :nana: woooooo!
But then 2 hours later I had to put 93 octane in my car @ 2.39 a gallon :(
2.50 give or take a few cents here in LA..seems to be going down slowly, though i doubt it will get under 2 bucks.
$2.08 today!!! Wahooo!!! :) Tons better than the $3.04 right after New Orleans got toasted.
Yeah. Holy shaZam!. I went on a ride last weekend and saw it at $1.95 in Burnet, TX. There are places near me at $2.09. It's getting cheaper. Not cheap, like back when I could fill my car up for $15 or get a full tank of gas on the bike for $5, but cheaper.
Still $2.49 here, cheapest places. Some still in the $2.50's :x
$1.95 today
Cheapest gas I've seen in a long time:
