Title: Case guards of any use on the 500F?

As the title indicates...are case guards of any use on the fully faired bike?

No.  As you have already observed, they will not fit on a fully faired GS.

Frame sliders are an occasional topic on the board, but unfortunately a stock GS has neither mounting brackets nor spaces in the fairing to accomodate them.
