We bought it used and I did not know.  I was looking for a  higher shield I could buy for the winter. Here is a pic of my son and my bikes taken Thanksgiving after our ride.

Thanks we just got the bike recently and Thanksgiving was the first ride in the Santa Monica Alps for my son. He noticed that above 50mph the wind really pounds on the chest.  I have a zero gravity on my bike and was just trying to find something similar for him.

If you want one that is simular, the one Targa makes looks almost just like it. However, I can tell you that it has little to offer in the way of wind protection.

When I bought my GS the previous owner had the optional factory upper fairing but it wasn't installed so I rode it for a while like that, but over 60 I noticed that I was really getting buffeted arround. I installed the fairing and it made a big difference. It dosen't really do much in terms of rain protection, but it smothes the airflow quite a bit, I'd say that it's a worthwhile comfort and apperance mod.

It is my son's bike and he likes the naked look better.  He was afraid it would rub when turning although I don't there is any chance of it, still if it makes him uncomfortable then he should remove it.
