I've got a scorpion exo-400 which has a polycarbonate shell, and I was wondering what adhesives aren't going to weaken the helmet, while keeping things stuck on there?
Specifically, I've got some reindeer antlers I wanna put on there, but I know certain chemicals can weaken the shell so... yeah. Any help/suggestions would be great. Thanks!
I just used suction cups to keep my horns on. I wouldn't go for anything heavier or more susceptible to wind.
And we want pics of those reindeer antlers!
If you want to ride track, there can be no adhesives ever used on the helmet. At least that's one of the rules here when you ride with RideSmart (http://www.ridesmart.info).
well, I'll post pics soon as I glue em on =) but I'm just afraid of putting something neat on my helmet, then crashing, then having the helmet split cause I used some kinda glue that I shouldn't have :o I don't think I'd like that =P but no one has some suggestion for glue that's safe to use on a helmet? I've heard rubber cement might work, but I dunno how well that's gonna hold up to wind and whatnot...
Suction cups'd be nice, but I dunno how I'd secure em to the antlers... I s'pose I could tie em or somethin... Zip ties and duct tape! Fixes everything along w/ WD-40
Don't use adhesive on a helmet.
At work we are not even allowed to put stickers or use marker pens on the safety helmets. You know the ones, much beloved by "Village people" and most commonly used for carrying nails and screws around building sites.
I wouldn't use anything other than a water-based decal adhesive. Whatever you do, don't use anything that contains a petroleum solvent.
My helmet, for the moment, is decal/sticker free. 8)
hmmm, from the sound of it, I guess I'm better off with zip ties and suction cups... course, the safest thing would be to not put anything on there, but where's the fun in that? :P thanks for the help! =)
