Post by: edwinviteri on December 03, 2005, 11:39:43 PM
Hi there I just wanted to ask you guys if you now anyplace in Toronto - Canada where to get the rims of a Bike painted.  I own a 2001 Gs500. Also aproximately how much do you think they would charge.

Thanking everyone who had a chance to read this post and for replying to it

Right in the comforts of your driveway or garage there, buddy.  If you want to tackle it yourself. Rustoleum makes a nice rattlecan black with gloss.

this post (http://gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13935&highlight=spray+painted+wheels) has some useful info, but not super detailed

this post (http://gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8389&highlight=spray+painted+wheels) is more detailed, and probably the best one... Dgyver also did his, and has pictures, so you could always PM him, I'm sure he'd be happy to give you some pointers

I think that powdercoating is the only way to go. You can't really do that yourself though.

If you have sole domain over your oven, you can.

I've had a couple of critics say that nothing edible comes out of it currently, so no great loss.   :P

I'm living in the T dot and I can get you prgfesional powdercoating done at the shop I work at. its called 'Wildside Choppers' and its at kipling and lakeshore. I guy resently had his v-rod's wheels, lower fork legs, rear belt drive sprocket done in high gloss black, and he payed about $350. they looked dam good though.
