Title: camtiming
Post by: aprilia123 on December 04, 2005, 05:20:06 PM
oh. yes   one more thing . If my exhaust  cam is timed roughly 3to 5 degrees retarded as in when the R   line is lined up on the crank the arrow is just above the machined top edge on the head  and you must turn the motor 3 to 5 degrees more for it to line up on the machined edge  will it run , or will this cause heat traping in the cylinders . what will happen if the cam is set 3to 5 degrees  advanced . PS  this is not a race bike  .i run an 04 gixer 600 and the GS is for my wife to  lurn how to ride !!

It sound like you already have it set up. Does the piston come into contact with the valve on the exhaust stroke when you turn it over by hand?
