Title: Quick PC Question...
Post by: Daniely on December 12, 2005, 10:58:30 PM
OK, I need to find a good Video Editing program for PC. I have alot of track footage and other stuff that I would like to edit and put onto DVD's and stuff. So if anyone knows of anything....

Also, I would like to find some good 3D Design software. Similar to the stuff they use to make toy story kind of movies. Just stuff to toy around with. Thanks for any info anyone has.

well well... it just so happen that I've been a video editor for like 8 years, and multimedia producer for 3.

I tell you what is crap and what is not, and I'll keep the list short:

Premiere = crap
Vegas = not crap (anything from v4 up)

For animation, you don't need Maya or Lightwave or whatever. If you have not been contaminated by 3ds max or Maya, I highly suggest Blender as your starting point. There's just nothing you can't do with it.

But, if you long for something much easier and simple to use, then go with Wings3D (polygonal modeler), or even easier Anim8or.

Just remember, is not the tool that makes a good 3d model/animation/whatever... but the person using it. Meaning, you can pay $5000 for a high-end 3d app, and still come up with crap.
