For the GS500 FAQ - please read over and add what you can, point out grammar or technical mistakes, etc. Thanks :thumb:

Ignition advancement will increase power in the lower RPM's and more "usable power". There is such a thing as an ignition advancer by Vance and Hines for the GS500, but they no longer manufacture it. It is possible you can get a modified stock one by asking around on the GStwin.com forum, or you can attempt to do it yourself.

The information in the tutorials above were written for the GS500, not the GS500F. The 2004+ GS's have a slightly different ignition timing due to the rotor. According to GStwin member BK, the "do it yourself" option worked fine on his '04 GS500F. He followed the tutorial on his GS500F. It took him about 20 minutes and he and is satisfied with the results of the "DIY" timing advance.
