Title: Happy Holidays 2005-2006
Post by: Phaedrus on December 16, 2005, 01:09:00 PM
So, what are everyone's plans for Christmas (or whatever it is that you choose to celebrate)? And if you don't celebrate it but still get the day off, what are you going to do instead? :)

And what about New Year's Eve? Any big plans? Anyone going to Times Square or anything like that? What about for the New Year..anyone got any New Year's resolutions they care to share with the group?    :P

I have two company parties tonight. One for the little lady and my works party. I will make a showing at both for the free booze and food.

As for the holiday I'm on vacation starting 12/20/05 and will be on vacation for three weeks. No big plans....just lots of sleep and xbox 360......Oh I almost forgot. I will be spending time replacing chain and spockets and a few other odds and ends on the GS.

Flying back to the U.S. of A. for some holiday action with the GF, and to visit family and friends. I get Boxing Day off, so I've got that going for me, which is nice. Nothing too exotic.  Have to climb a 150 FT silo at 6 am New Years Day, so that holiday is a total loss.

And, for the record, I also dislike christmas the other 51 weeks of the year.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve  :)

Ah yes, the presents, the leisure, the FOOD, the family time, the Christmas carols and christmas movies...the cookies and fudge..the snowflakes and hot cocoa..the christmas trees and christmas lights..

Oh yes. It will be good.  :)

I'll be visiting family.   Sort of a reunion, as we haven't all been in one place at the same time for a while.  We're all getting older, so it's a good thing to do.

My original plan was to sacrifice virgins on the solstice.   Maybe next year.

At any rate, to all my fellow (and fellow-ette) GS'ers, have a Politically-Correct Happy Whatever, respective to your particular chosen religious or non-religious behavior.    :thumb:

Frock that, December 25th is Christmas. If you don't celebrate it, fine - but call it what it is. ;)  :thumb:

Be sure to write your brother in bootcamp. It makes a world of difference in boosting his moral and helps convince him of the honor he performs while serving.

Merry Christmas to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My present to myself was a Smith and Wesson Model 15. Wife was FURIOUS.........
BUT..........I told her it could be classified as my Christmas present!

Children asked what else I wanted..........what could I say?

Ammunition!!

Merry Christmas to all of you and to Hell with political correctness and those that brought us to this rotted fruition.

And feel free to forward his address so that WE can write him and thank him for his service, too. If nothing else, he might be entertained by the GSTwin strangers writing our crazy stuff (especially Srinath   ).

We'll be riding and cooking at home for Christmas!

Dear 94Suz's Brother:

You don't know us, but we're crazy strangers.

We hear that you're in bootcamp. You have our respect and admiration!

As for why we're writing, it's for two reasons. The first is to thank you for your service. The second is because we're crazy loons, and we need as many outlets for our craziness as is humanly possible to find. So...you're our latest victim.

We hear that boot camp can drive you crazy, so we figured we'd hurry the process along. Here are a few musings by one of our most (in)famous characters on GSTwin, Srinath: $%^&*&@@#$. Now, to know Srinath is to lov...tolera....is to know him!    That's one of his more clear, easy-to-read statements!

So, dear brother of one of our GSTwin brothers, if you aren't in the loony bin yet, hearing from my brothers and sisters at GSTwin will send you there (we get lonely, so we try to pull as many folks as we can into the loony bin).

We hope this holiday season finds you healthy, happy, and in not-too-much pain from boot camp. Remember, purple GS's are the fastest. That's one of the main philosophies that will get you far in boot camp. Try it...walk up to a cohort there, and let them know that a purple pansy told you that purple GS's are the fastest! Should make for an interesting  conversation! ;) (Make sure it's not your CO, though, or you'll be on latrine duty for years!)

Thank you again for your service, and try to stay sane during the holidays!!

Love,
the purple pansy

Soooo...this means bootcamp is held on the ships??? Cuz I've never heard of heads on land!  :P

They get trained to call it the head right from the start. And, you're making me think of "Yellow Submarine" when on of the Beatles says, "I think we're at the foothills of the headlands."

Ok......I'm about to commit a crime for which some will not likely forgive me, but....

I can't stand the Beatles. :P

But I *do* wish everyone happiness, joy, and light in 2006! ;)

P.S. If they're on land, they should be latrines, dammit. :P

I have to admit, I used to like the Beatles, but I must be more progressive in my enjoyment of music.

I sometimes Imagine a world without Beatles  :P  They are OK, though, for the most part. I sometimes catch myself bopping my head to their funky beats and harmonious vocals.
