Will a exhaust from a Yoshimura TRS Exhaust for ZX10r 600cc Kawasaki bike work for my gs500f 2005 I am really wanting to add this exhaust but the guy at the dealer stated that it would be like not having a muffer at all, that the bike will stall if added. I am willing to rejet the bike but only if the muffer/exhaust will work
The ZX10R is a 1000cc bike.
No it won't fit, unless the inlet and output diameter's are the same as the GS500's header. Which it isn't, by a big ass margin. The dealer dude is right.

I am rather dismayed by this flury of welding on just any exhaust cannister that come along cheaply lately. You all do realize that the GS's (or any engine's) collector and exhaust pipe diameter is NOT randomly chosen and each change in diameter has an effect on how well the pipe works. Just being bigger isn't better. By creating an expansion in the exhaust stream you introduce back pressure waves into the exhaust cycle that the designers of the engine hadn't intended. Yeah you get away with it because the GS's engine is so mellow and laid back. But you aren't helping it, just being noisy and bling, which on as humble a bike as a GS500 is a bit lame.

Yoshimuras RS-3 Slipon Exhaust from a 2001 Hayabusa if I only use one of the two pipes could I add that to my gs500
