Seattlites, unite to annihilate! I bought the $500 craigslist 89 GS500 from last month here in the city of Gates. Thanks to you all I think I can not only ride the beast but I can make it run better. Bike is in pieces (many pieces), gaskets, brake lines and brake pads in the mail, springs done and rejet done(srinath styly). Maybe you are right about the fixens. I still have to learn to ride. At least I waited till 30 to die. One speeding ticket and been hit three times in downtown on a bicycle. Triathalons the hard way. Had to join my first forum because I can only learn so much from poaching. Questions to follow on the rebuild. BTW thanks for all the laughs so far.
Welcome to the forum.
Also, Ballard is not its own city. You're not fooling anyone.

Welcome to the nuthouse!! Hit three times on a bicycle!? Maybe you should have bought the GS trike that was on eBay not long ago!?
Welcome!
Seattle? Who would want to live in Seattle? :P
Welcome, and don't forget the rain gear...
Did you get the speeding ticket on the bicycle?
Greetings Carl. There's nothing like a GS in pieces all over a garage to give you the feeling of "Damn, now where does this piece go?"
I take issue that GSTwin is a nuthouse. It is more of a "Therapy Zone" for the speed inclined.
So if you are going to die, make it a good life, take the MSF course, ride the GS, and pray you live longer than GSJack. Of course he is still riding now well past his 60's. You've got a good 40 more years of riding ahead of you.
Now let's see, my 90 project will be almost 55 years old in 40 years. I'll be 88.....oh my. :o :o :o
