Title: NYC Transit Strike - Day 2
Post by: mp183 on December 20, 2005, 07:02:59 AM
Went into the garage and looked at the bikes.
DL650, GS500 and KLR 250.
Guess which one went to work with me?
GS500 right tool for the right job.
Lots of lanes to split, can't beat it.

Around 19 when I started.
In 20 minutes I was in the Tropics.  Gets warmer the closer you
get to the ocean.

I went into the garage looked at the 3 bikes.
DL650, GS500 and KLR250.
So which one did I choose?
The nimble GS500 that served me well yesterday.
The KLR250 which is even more nimble when splitting lanes. (mirrors are higher).
The DL650 which is a pain when splitting lanes.
Looked at the thermometer, 17 degrees.
No-brainer, DL650 wins hands down.
Windshield, hand-guards and Oxford heated grips.
No traffic whatsoever at the time I left.
Feet did not touch the ground until I came out of the Lincoln Tunnel.
Parked the bike in the usual spot on the side street by where I work.
I am so not worthy.  Life is just too good.
