Im praying that its just bad gas!
Heres the story, at around 2500 rpms i notice the engine pings a bit when i rev it around there but when its lower or higher than 2500 it goes away.
Now im not sure how long its been sitting on the dealership showroom so im hoping its just bad gas and in the spring i plan on draining the gas tank and putting in fresh fuel.
Any other things to check for while shes stored away? Ive also added fuel stabalizer as well to the tank
engine knocking is common...check the threads below. also, search for other threads that may contain some explanation.

You might try going to the next higher octane level to see if it stops. My Dakota truck knocks really bad on 87 octane but going to 89 eliminated it. Not sure if it would be camshaft knock since my GS only experiences it at idle intermittently.
There's no reason to use anything over 87 on a GS that hasn't had major engine work done. Kerry runs his on 85. I think Jet's links cover it well.
hmm ill try higher octane like 94. The owners manual says to use 91 or higher. wierd
Good read tho on the

posts! good knowledge of the cams not sitting properly...Since the bike is still under warranty, and if this keeps up i might take it back to the dealership and have them take a look.
Thanks for the info peeps!
The manual says 91 RON. Over here, we use AKI, and the manual specifies 87 AKI.
make her stop.....
