Title: Virginia Tech Spring Game Ride.
Post by: vtlion on December 21, 2005, 01:11:00 PM
Hey Hokie fans.

I don't think that the date has been announced yet, but I'm seriously thinking about a scoot down from central PA to Blacksburg for the spring game (usually sometime in April).

anybody out there that might be interested in setting up a road trip?

yeah, i know... and I"m swamped with work

I'll have to come up with a different excuse to ride down this summer.  Teaching has just turned into a giant cluster-**** this year.  No time... no time.....

Somebody toss out a suggestion for a summer-ride idea... maybe the BRP?

Don't even mention them nittany lions  :flipoff:

I am so sick of everyone up here telling me that they are better than tech.  I guess they should enjoy it while they can.  PSU has really sucked the last few seasons before 05.  The "We're Back" T-shirts are getting old.

I will be going down to VT sometime because I want to see the new chemistry complex they built.  I just can't go now because of my teaching responsibilities here and my wedding in one month.  I'll be driving through blackbsburg after the honeymoon, but I won't be able to get the bike down until later in the summer.  I'm thinking about trucking down to DC and riding Skylne and the BRP to Roanoke in the summertime.  Maybe in July.

Lets keep this thread going because I really am dying to get back down to the mountain empire sometime.

I'd be down to ride Skyline Drive and the BRP some - I just need some experience first.  I'm in southern MD right outside DC, but I went to Tech, so I'm a little familiar with that area.  I think I should be ok to make a trip by the time July rolls around.  I'll keep tabs on this thread, sounds like it could turn into a nice trip :thumb:

edit to keep on topic:  I don't think I'm comfortable enough riding yet to make the trip to Tech this weekend, but one day I'll do it.

no way did you kill this thread.

I'm just waiting until I have a few days to make it down to va.  It turns out my next  pass throught the area will be on 4-wheels.  This may I'm passing through on the way back from my honeymoon in Tennessee.

I'm thinking I'll ride down to VA in July or August most likely.

if anybody is interested in meeting up along the way at about that time, they should post up.  I'm particularly looking for a place to sack out in Roanoke or Blacksburg.  Heading back is no big deal, cause I can zonk out on the appalachian trail if I want to make it a 2 day ride.
