I was looking to replace the stock windscreen with something more SPORT/TOURING but after reading all the banter on the subject [aboot ]nothing available for the 04 - 05 F model I did the next best thing and painted It black. This was done with a can of plastic friendly spray paint and [aboot] 20 minutes . [ The windscreen was removed very easy with no grief and very little swearing in French ] I soon recieved the December issue of Cycle Canada and in the new products section was the LAMINARLIP claiming to [reduce on the riders chest and arms while lowering wind noise and buffeting ] this made In USA product was just what I was looking for . I went to the web site and BLAM ! there It was one for the 500 F . Actually we even have a choice between smoke and clear ! so I ordered a smoke one to match the painted stocker . It arrived just before Christmas and I installed it in 5 minutes. It looks BITCHIN so my HARLEY riding biker trash friends tell me. RIGID RUDY thinks it looks like a [KLINGON BATTLE BIKE] cost is 80 dollars US and the web site is [ laminarlip.com ] hope this helps some folks the after market is slooooooowly starting to notice us GS 500 nuts. I would love to try it out but we are knee deep in snow at the moment! CHEERS!
Cool. Got pics of how yours look? Or a link to the website who makes them?
Zero Gravity (and Puig, apparently) also make windscreens for ther 500F. Did you notice? They make a sport touring one that is a little higher and available in a vareity of colors.

Thanx for the intrest folks. If you go to the LAMINARLIP.COM site go to touring lip section and the picture of the TRIUMPH SPRINT ST is identical to the one I recieved [ looks wise ]. Also look up riders review there is a good blurb on the lip. I will try in the near future to post a pick of my love machine but at the moment it is in the shop [ dealer ] to get the top end done under warranty. Yes I have the annoying camshaft end play rattle that some [ If not all ] GS 500 have. Short story is told dealer on first service [aboot ] rattle/ dealer ordered parts/ dealer hounded ME to bring bike in / got a letter from SUZUKI CANADA with A THOUSAND apologies /but that is another story. CHEERS!
How did you remove the stock screen? I've been able to remove the three screws on the outside of the screen, but it looks like the black inside is holding it together?
I wanted to take the stock screen out and paint it, but I didn't want to take too much off (since I don't knoa anything about bikes...)
i'm not so sure i'd wait to paint my screen .. i'd much rather find some tint that looks good and just tint it .... cuz if you dont like it you can just take it off ! :)
No big deal to remove windscreen at all . # 1 - Remove screws from windscreen . # 2 - Spread front and back upper fairing halfs about 1 cm apart and windscreen pops out .

You need to remove the rubber nutserts on each side of the windscreen. They go through the screen. The upper screw holes also mount over the posts the screws go in, so the screen doesn't exactly pop right out..
