Title: It's ALIVE
Post by: Zilla on December 31, 2005, 02:13:34 PM
Finally got my GS fired up. Had to do the valves among fixing all the ABUSE this thing had. Still have quite a bit to do, running it off a plastic lawnmower tank. Need to clean out the tank, go thru the brakes. Front is hanging up. Have a Katana Shock and a Fork brace to put on it. Want to get stiifer springs for the forks. Tires of course. I know i'm ranting, but i'm just happy as hell to get it running.

Quick question though. I don't have the airbox on it, but it seems to be running lean. Is this normal without the airbox on?

Well, back to the shop .

It will run lean without the airbox as there is less restriction to the air flow.

Yea, the plugs are pretty light colored. Did go thru the carbs before I ever did the top end.

I figured it would run lean without the airbox, just wasn't sure how much. Have too much time and money in this thing to do any more damage.
