Title: mirror options for E's
Post by: that_guy on January 03, 2006, 03:00:16 PM
I need to get some mirrors.  What different options are there for the GS?  Aside from the obvious answer of stock..  Anyone using anything nice?

Why not? They should fit on the '89-'00 models as well.

$30 shipped for ones in excellent condition, too. If your mirror mounts are aftermarket, all you need to do is find out wether or not they are Yamaha or Ducati, because those are reverse thread.

I saw a pic of a gs500e without mirrors and it looked really nice (but dangerous)

That is why I am considering bar-end mirrors even though I hear they are hard to see out off.

I've got these little carbon look mirrors that are small rectangles and are great to look at my elbows with.

Oh man, I think I had one of those on my bike after I took the fairing off and before I put the SV mirrors on. I totally know what you mean. It was a REALLY good look at the forearm though.

Check out the Hagen F-1 mirrors. They are hideously expensive ($65 EACH), lightweight, made of plastic, but they look AMAZING. They are so so sexy, it isn't even funny.

My father has some on his FZ1 (fully naked) and they really fit the naked streetfighter part.

I reckon that they're better than the original mirrors. You get a better view behind.
The only trouble I found is that they do vibrate a bit.

Put a set of bar end mirrors on & you'll never look back

BTW put two mirrors on, as one is totally useless
