Title: random pics of my rides...
Post by: makenzie71 on January 03, 2006, 08:16:25 PM
it was nice out today...got into the 60's, actually, and the wind was only gusting into the 65mph area so I thought I'd wheel the regular rides out into the yard and take a few pics...

That one didn't work the way I'd planned...so I took another one...

...which turned out better, but the REAL Makenzie insisted on posing.

Everyone's seen the RatBike.

...a rat-bike of near impossible to parallel proportions.

Here's a clip of her exhaust...

Then the ultra-noisy TL1000S.  I think I'll be ripping the fairings off before long and going back to stock for a while...I like change and it helps...

...I like matte finnish paint, thank you very much.  However, in dusty inviroments, the only pleasure I've gotten out of it has been to occasionally grafiti-ize it with chalk.

I'm about to get some Super Black III and redo the gix and stock fairings so I can continue to switch back and forth.

Had more but it was too big to deal with at the moment.  Tried to get some cruisig sounds going around the yard but the ground is so crappy out here that touching the throttle sent me skittering sideways and shaZam!.  I nearly laid her out trying to get a WOT run to redline...that part of the clip contains an "oh shaZam!" and a lot of other colorful phrases so I cut it out.  I hope you guys appreciate it...

Wow that's a loud exhaust. Now is that the exhaust clattering or the valves?

Also are you still interested in a trade since I take it you haven't sold the TL yet? If so shoot me a PM and I'll post somepics of my bad boy in the 'farm'.

The "clatter" is the echo inside the shop.  That particular noise is almost muted outside.  The exhaust is very hard, fast hits and it just sounds wierd inside.

I'd don't think I'll be looking to get rid of her "just yet"...but you can post some shots anyway.  I'm not difficult to sway when faced with something interesting.

a 5 gallon can of diesel will take care of those problems, and give you a decent place to start building nice bikes.

aj, I mean sf...if you insist on following Mak around with these types of replies you're giving yourself up.

Knock this shaZam! off, now. You'll get banned. I'll personally erase every single one of your posts.

what paint did you use on the TL?  brand and finish?

that was a rattlecan job.  I use Krylon matte black...it has a little gloss in it to help protect the paint.

I actually know how to paint...so I can make rattlecan work look damn good.  I ran out of paint for the fairings, though... ....but my tail and front fender look DAMN nice!

Hahahaha FLAMES!!! Sounds really good, even for inside without a muffler to dull the tones a little. Now you just need to take it outside and do the same thing so we can hear it in its natural enviroment.
