Post by: E.C & S.T on January 04, 2006, 05:09:32 AM
once you have washed the bike and try to start it, it doesnt want to know. it will tick over but not fire does anyone know what may be causing this we think it is water getting into the  engine somewhere which is casuing problems. we have to dry the sparkplugs then it works. if anyone knows the problems could they please offer a solution to stop it. the bike has to travel to southampton and back again every weekend so it cant have problems.
please help it is starting to annoy us.

Well...  Each time I wash my bike I make sure that the engine is running.  This way if water does "try" to enter the engine in any way, the engine pressure just forces it outside.

You definitely want to keep away from the outlet on your muffler, otherwise it will start to rust from the inside-out.

Got any cracks/tears in your plug wires/boots? Check them and replace if necessary. Are they on snug enough to begin with?
