Just got off the phone with my future boss. He called to verify the salary requirements we spoke about. He said "I'm in the middle of writing up your offer now and job description." OK that's promising.
the sweet part is the job is for 20 hrs/wk but the pay is built on a full time salary. So if they offer 30k my pay would be $300/wk ect... this takes it out of being considered a part timer going to school and being paid $9/hr like most places in the valley.
So that's the good news! School still and an income finally! Best part is they came after me. :icon_mrgreen:
Congratulations!!! We should have a party.....since you're making $$ now.....you're bringin the beer right... :icon_mrgreen:
How about new bikes for everyone?
Congrats John!
Allright!! Congradulations!
WoooooooooooooooooooooHoooooooooooooooooooooo Congratz!!!!!!!!!
Par-tay at john's house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :icon_mrgreen:
Oh yea, big party. I'll be using the $ to pay bills off for a while. First job is to track down bugs in their proprietary software.
But hey. It's work in the IT field so this is my big break..
lol enjoy, it beats the hell out of other jobs there in the almighty armpit of hell

P.S. What's a dort bike? :dunno_white: Is that a cross between dork and dirt bike? :icon_mrgreen:
DUDE!
Welcome to the real world. The world of I.T......I've been in for about three years now and I'll tell you....the field is a great one to get into if you like being a tech junkie. I love it and would not do anything else for work unless a ton more money was offered to me. Congrats on the new job and thanks for getting the forums up again. I really missed them and was starting to really get depressed. I may not post a ton but I'm always reading and keeping up on everything.....
That is fantastic!!!! Congrats and I hope you enjoy it   <--don't do this at work unless you work in a call center
Call center work is cool if you get into the right one.
yeah, but i got to deal with crabby students and parents. Every once and a while there would be a nice person who called and just wanted a little help and would actually listen to what you told them to do and try, rather then get huffy and tell me that we should come to them cause it would be quicker. Call centers just aren't for me, I like to deal with th users face to face and get my hands dirty on some of the computers and equipment. Plus every once and a while you get a new computer that is just AWESOME.
That is true....very true.....
BUT....you can always note the account with "Call Dropped" if you know what I mean. :icon_rolleyes:
Can you dig it? O0
yes i can
Congrats! I actually got a job offer yesterday too ;)
:icon_rolleyes:
I'll just be making sure the netwoek and workstations are secure, troubleshooting a bug in the proprietary software and basic network management. Upgrading/fixing -you know, the usual stuff. The IT manager said he wants somebody green so he can mold them into a replacement for himself when he retires in a few years. I quality! Green as a dollar bill I am.
WOOHOO!!!....I got a new job too....I will be getting a paid internship this semester....it's only $10/hr....but it's funkin better then nothin'!!!!.....
.....it's nothing high-tech like John's job....I'll be a lowly TA at a Math Tutoring facility....after school type stuff....but it's 20 hrs a week...which is extra $$ for my SV....or wife (cause not even god can help me with this one) willing....2nd bike $$.....
